Sequels Better Than Originals

We hear plenty of movie sequels flopping and not being a patch on the original films so is there any sequels you can think of that were better than the originals?

Couple spring to mind.

Lord Of The Rings 3 Better than 1 and 2.
Latest Batman film better than the first few.

Will add more later when i can remember.

Aliens is better than Alien IMHO

The French Connection 2 is at least as good as the French Connection

As a good rule of thumb sequels generally suck though.

Pink Panther films got better as they went on , also James Bond , Indiana Jones too

I think the Godfather Part II is generally fancied as better than the 1st (I read that somewhere, sorry). I can't really tell them apart. I'm a Goodfellas man.

I preferred the first Indiana btw, Keem.

REturn of the King was definetly better than Fellowship, but I do prefer Two Towers out of all of them. The last 20 mins of RotK does me, I've never managed to watch all of it yet

Decent shout on Aliens CJ, although a close thing IMO....downhill after that though. Box sets outstanding.

Blade 2 was decent I thought, but Blade 3 ?? well........only good thing it had going for it was Jessica Biel

I'll probably be alone on this one, & more of a remake than a sequel....but I prefer the recent Texas Chainsaw Massacre to the original.....err.....Jessica Biels in that too

Godfathers a good shout, 2 was marginally better than 1, & 3's not on the same planet although a decent effort considering the time gap I thought.

Oh, Aliens is one of my all time favourites so I'm 100% behind that one.

Clint Eastwoods spaghettis were pretty good. I wouldnt say 'For a few dollars more' & 'The Good, the bad & the ugly' were any worse than the 'A fistful of dollars'

Aye Jessica Biel is very nice Swoops. In a way it annoyed me the new Texas Chainsaw cos there was a lot of her running about bouncing up and down in a skimpy vest, which of course is great on one hand but theres none of that in the original and it does detract from the film!

Aliens is generally recognised to be the best Alien and I agree there for sure. Probably get in the list for top 10 films for me.

Do not agree on Batman begins, the first Batman was the best imo. Jack Nicholson is fantastic as the joker.

A lot of people like Rocky 4 best from the Rockys and I can see why for sure. I like the original best though as an overall quality film. Cant beat the fight in Rocky 4 though

Empire strikes back is generally recognised as the best Star Wars episode. Its number 5 or number 2 depending on how you want to look at it!

Terminator 2 is far better than the first and still one of the greatest action films of all time
