Atari ST emulation

OK surely there must be some Atari ST fans out there ?
I've been toying around with emulators.
Get the emulator here
Install that.

Now you get the disk images from here

Say you want to get a game that was on a pompey pirates disk....Click on "Pompey" and then on one of the three directories and download the disk ya fancy.

Run the Saint199d.exe file to get the emulator cranked up. Now click on the folder on the left where you downloaded the disk images. Note you dont actually have to bother unzipping most of them. Click on the disk image and choose yes to restart the ST and you are away. Should you need to change a disk etc during playing the ST press F12, eject the current disk, choose the data disk but select "no" so you don't reboot, then click run along the top and you've changed disks in the virtual A: drive. You can format disks this way too for saving games on etc.

I've just been playing deuteros, fucking brilliant game.

Re: Atari ST emulation

Oh and you might like to download some of the pompey pirate disks and read the scrollers etc and you'll see where the inspiration for being called alien comes from ! The guy is most amusing, some of the disks were being put out during the first gulf war. So when loading in huge letters it would come up.... NUKE IRAQ!! 100% SADDAM FREE DISK !!!

Re: Atari ST emulation

the Atari ST emulator is in the first link I posted.
All the games etc are in the second.
I haven't psoted a link for the 2600 etc emulators though.
The link is just to emulate Atari ST, but the atari archive has games for 2600 etc as well.

Kick off player manager - That was called the final whistle wasn't it ?
Hmmm right I'm doing a very deep memory thing here......going back many years.....I THINK it was on a pompey pirates disk around the 80s.
I'll go have a check and see if my memory is as good as I thnk it is.

Oh my fucking god, as if we needed any more proof of my brilliance but I was only fucking bang on !!! No cheating or anything as that's pointless. Man I'm well proud of that amazing piece of memory.

Pompey pirates disk 81 !!

Also on it is the amazing game multi player soccer manager. I think it was a dundee company who wrote this. Fucking great game as well, spent many hours playing it. Well better than championship manager

Re: Atari ST emulation

Speedball was always a good one. Player managr was awesome. I played it so much my player manager got to be 99 years old. Was basically a slug.

Then I think he reset back to 16!

Man i can almost feel those cobwebs coming off my memory...........

Re: Atari ST emulation

Speedball and Speedball 2 by the infamous bitmap bros. Every bitmap bros game was class. Actually amusingly there are quite a few pompey pirate type references in the forum. Was (not Was) are constantly mentioned in pompey pirate scrollers, there is of course me aliensyndm named after ALIEN.
Someone I know was involved with all the pompey pirate stuff, I wont say who but they get a mention in a few scrollers.

Right I think I'm gonna nick the speedball team name - Brutal Deluxe. Now that's a cool name !

Re: Atari ST emulation

Anyone remember Red Sector?

When I was a kid I used to send a shitload of blank disks with a postal order to some guy who got all the latest copies. He used to send me a list with literally 1000's of copies of games and stuff, I'd just pick what I wanted.

In fact I think he was part of a 'cracking crew'

Remember being so fucking excited waiting for the jiffy bag to be delivered.
