FREEROLL PLAY OR WAST TIME??
Today i decide to play same freroll tournament one of them was 1000$ there was 4608 players and after over 2 hours i finish 857 so i dont get money.
The 2nd freeroll was only 100$ but playing this same time with 1000$ In this tournament was playing 2542 players and after 3 hours i finish 16th and get 0,77$ !!!
Please tell me what you think about playing freerolls: its wasting time or not????

Re: FREEROLL PLAY OR WAST TIME??
Rej, those types of freerolls with 2798302888 entries in my opinion are a big waste of time. People on certain other forums can sit for 7 hours and then think they are brilliant cause they made the cash and banked a staggering 0.63c, they even post up screen shots.
Seriously though, unless it's an exclusive freeroll (like our Paradise one on the 28th) with small numbers, then I'd say it's a waste of time.
There are a lot of $1, $5, $6, $10 buy in tournaments which should be much more financially beneficial for you I'm sure.
Dump the freerolls Rej..

Re: FREEROLL PLAY OR WAST TIME??
Only play them if for some reason you can't/won't deposit and want to play them to start building a bankroll. Otherwise only play them if you just want to play crazy and/or play without risking your own money, as many other players don't take these freerolls seriously and it shows in the way they play.

Re: FREEROLL PLAY OR WAST TIME??
They can be handy for a few different reasons - just wanting a game/a few hours entertainment, not having any money to play with, or if you're on a bit of a tilt it can be theraputic to have a freeroll to play recklessly in, but in terms of wanting to make money from them, you should really only be looking for freerolls where prizepool divided by no. of players = 5 or upwards I would say but generally better if possible, and for that to be true it needs to be some sort of exclusive freeroll...password protected or qualification only etc.

Re: FREEROLL PLAY OR WAST TIME??
I try it sometimes but wasn“t with much luck the most time.
Won 1.00$ - 10.00$ and only one time a ticket to the weekly final (price money 1.000$) on Pokerstars.com over Hubbles Freeroll. Played 6 hours for that....
It“s time wasting but good enough to learn a bit for free and have a few hours with entertainment ...

Re: FREEROLL PLAY OR WAST TIME??
Rejmak,
Freerolls are not a waste of time really. They are good ways to start learning poker without having to spend your own money and they have no risk involved! Saying that yes the standard of poker in them is low (but in its own way this makes them fun ) and yes the prizes are generally pretty low but what do you expect for free! You DO get some freerolls with very nice prizes. MrM on here won an 11,000$ Ladbrokes cruise package from a freeroll. I won over 1000GBP from a betfair one a few years back - you just have to hunt out the good ones. Personally I still play them myself these days but only very very occasionally, maybe three or four times a year seriously, when the prizes are good enough.

Re: FREEROLL PLAY OR WAST TIME??
without reading up too much (sorry chaps) freerolls to me are a great way to learn bad habits and bet wrecklessly. I would avoid rejmak unless you really have no money. If you can afford to pay anything for a game then play with what you can just afford to lose as you need to play to the best of your ability at all times. if your like me if you aunt got nothing to lose you aint too bothered about losing it and you dont learn much that way.
All that aside is there any ok toutnaments tonight? Whens the bet365 freeroll old 1am freeroll these days? Ill go look but id be interested in any other one thats on later so as i can play wreckless as hell whilst i work on things around the forum

Re: FREEROLL PLAY OR WAST TIME??
I would say that a lot of the freerolls are a waste of time because by the very nature of them the prizes are low.
Having said that, Jezza makes a good point about seeking out some of the better ones.
For myself, I have won the Safety Net on Sporting Odds a few times, and boosted my account to the tune of $65 a time. Cant argue with that
At the end of the day , they are a great way of learning the game for free and picking up a bit of cash along the way

Re: FREEROLL PLAY OR WAST TIME??
I'm no great poker player, but I opened up a skybet account a few weeks ago, and was given poker points with which I could enter their freeroll tournaments. It was pretty reasonable conditions going by some of the stories here. There's usually about 2-300 players for £50 or £100 freerolloer tournaments, 500 in the odd £1,000, but if you're their after an hour and a half, you're pretty much guaranteed a prize. You also have the option to "go away" for a while and then return to the table.
I actually opened up a second account when I ran out of points with my first. Between the two, I made £20 odd quid, and a bit of experience/interest for when it suited. I'd recommend it.
And in that light, can anyone recommend any other sites which offers freeroll entry, with no deposit required, along with tolerable chances of getting something out of it?

Freerolls, now that's an idea. I'm on a mission to see what I can turn nothing into.

Re: FREEROLL PLAY OR WAST TIME??
IMO, the trick is to be selective, and only play real good value (per head) freerolls, or restricted freerolls (passworded)- i find the ones in magazines like insidepoker and pokerplayer are okay - I have won live seats twice this year from magazine freerolls.. some of the players are okay, and it just doesnt feel as fishy as a network wide free-for all.
freerolls are a waste of time until you win a fat one.

I agree that ones in the magazines are good and I always post up pokerplayer ones in here for everyone to find out about, well worth the cost of the mag, not that I've ever won anything yet. But give it time. .GIF)
