USA v England - 28th May

Had a feeling england would be evens and I just might take that. Any americans on here have any views?

I quite fancy USA here to be honest. England are no doubt the better team but i thought their squad was quite weak to be honest and i feel most the players will be played so they wont be too familiar playing together.

USA on the other hand have some great players in Beasley, Donavan, Mcbride who could easily hurt England. I wont bet however until i see starting line ups first.

Anyone have the england squad list?

I was hoping for a little better than the 11/5 (3.20) on betfair.....but the overround has been made up on england. England are 2.50 on betfair but around 2.00-2.30 at the bookies. I think backing USA is probably the best play but I'd want a little more than 3.20 I think.

Still some value in it though Alien - maybe you would be best to wait for in running and wait for the odds to get a bit better.

I am pre-occupied with life downunder at the mo and I've only looked at BBC text on TV but there is a suggestion that USA will be without a number of first choice players as well.

I was going to suggest a lay of England at the prices quoted in the RP this morning, approx 2.50. However having just logged on to Betfair I see they are now 2.80 to lay. Thats too long for me.

My reasoning being that although England are missing a lot of first choice players they also tend not to lose many games under SGE. I could see the game being a low scoring or non scoring draw possibly with Englands player advantage evened out by USA's home advantage. Looking at it as an even match I would have been happy to lay England at the shorter price of approx 2.5. However with the price now out a bit further its a leave alone for me.

I'm on England at 2.76. Any 11 English blokes off the street should be able to beat any American side that they put out because we invented the game, so there.
