Arne Friedrich fällt für das letzte Spiel der deutschen Nationalmannschaft beim Confederations Cup aus. Der Berliner beendete das Abschlusstraining für das Spiel um Platz drei gegen Mexiko schon nach zehn Minuten. Ein Bluterguss in der Wade verhindert auch seinen Einsatz gegen Mexiko.

Well it could be called a pointless game and i have no idea how the Mexicans are going to take this game. They could possibly give their squad players a game. Anyone know?

For the Germans, the game is a sell out and the fans expect a result and a performance. Every friendly "Germany" have been treating it as a proper match as they prepare for hosting the World Cup next year.

Germany have a great record against Mexican sides having played 8 and only losing once which was exactly 20 years ago.

They have had a good tournament with their only defeat coming against the Brazilians after giving them a great game and going down 3-2. They have been a great attacking side with Podolski, Ballack and Schweinsteiger all been in great form. Their problem is their defence. They have been giving away silly goals all tournament and they are going to pay heavily eventually if they dont tighten up at the back.

Every game in this tournament has gone over the 2.5 goals which sums up the team for you. Great going forward but will leak goals.

Mexico on the other hand have been the surprise package and narrowly lost out to Argentina on penalties. They have a solid defence which managed to keep clean sheets against Argentina and Brazil for the 90 mins which is a pretty impressive results.

I feel they will play in a similar style to the two games mentioned here where they will set out a defensive formation and try to hit the Germans on the counter attack.

Im a bit unsure of the over/under bet. Im more siding with the under and the Mexicans due to the fact they have managed to keep better attacking sides out for the 90 mins. Dont see any real value in taking the Germans to win and quite fancying laying them.

But team news for the Mexicans would be handy so if anyone has any information it would be much appreciated.

My previews for these games crashed twice so BOLLOCKS..I'm not doing it again.

Brasil to win in 90mins. Better overall form in the tourney, showed great attitude in the way they responded to Germany's equalisers , and that impressed me a lot. HAve the ability to find an extra gear when need be..plus we haven't seen them put in a vintage performance...now's the time, lads...NOW's the time!

Germany v Mexico: have a touch on the 'overs'. Germany scoring well, Mexico may open up a bit more with so little at stake. I don't believe all that shit about '3rd place menaing a lot to us and our fans'...we can't win the Cup, so bugger that. I think a high scoring game is in order.

I agree with Brazil - when they need to step it up they do. Seem to play better against the "bigger" teams. A MASSIVE loss for the Argentine's is going to be the loss of Javier Saviola. He was probably their best player against Mexico and his pace and width caused them problems throughout the game.

Carlos Tevez is in line to step in and he is the South American Wayne Rooney so to speak. I think he is a bit overhyped to be honest. Come time i think he will be a good player, nothing like he is being touted as.

Im siding to the Brazil outright win as i feel the loss of Saviola is going to be big. Adriano and Robinho seem to be starting to find their feet again and are looking sharp. I hope Juninho starts as each time he has come on as a sub he's really giving them another edge.

Take out both Mexico games for the 2 and every other game has made the over. So im going to take that aswell as the outright Brazil win.

hmmmm.... argentina are overpriced @ 3.10 imo. argentine defence has been poor but it consists of good players; brazil's defence has also been poor and it includes roque junior.

re: mexico - the 5 chivas players are still with the squad but will fly back to mexico straight after the game. no team news yet but they might well be rested and, even if not, their minds should be on the copa lib game (FIFA have waived the 48hr rule.). Still, i expect a few of 'em not to play.

(btw, atletico pr were a ridiculous 5.50 @ hills to beat chivas yesterday.)

also, marquez is suspended and has returned to Barca already.

I agree Argentina are overpriced - but after watching Saviola against Mexico they seemed to run out of ideas after his sending off.

I forgot about Marquez being suspended but he was pretty poor in the tournament in the few games he played. Its the other 2 youngers ive been really impressed with. Im not going to place a bet until i see the starting line ups. In running might be the best option and see how they both start.

atletico play chivas tomommorow. 1st leg was 2-0 to atl.

marquez didn't even manage a full game in the tournament so you can say he isn't a great loss; there's another mexican defender with an injury doubt, forget which one - the guy who coloccocini injured, i think.

btw, tevez is better than saviola imo.

Ive not believed the hype with tevez yet. He obviously didnt think he was cut out for the top just yet either and thats why he went to the league he did, which he hasnt exactly set the world alight either.

I havent seen enough of them both to comment on who's the better player. I was just judging by what ive seen them bring to the Argentina side and what they give them.

Strange - i thought the Germany game was on tv. Bit dissapointed as i was looking forward to watching it. Have put an extra 3pts on there to be no goals at 10s. Hopefully Mexico can put in the same defensive performance against Brazil and Argentina.

2-1 Germany now. What a game it seems im missing. Interesting the two players i said have stood out in this tournament, Schwiensteiger and Podolski both score but i dont have any anytime bets on them

Yeah sounds good game. Strange cause Channel 5 were meant to be screening the games but they have only picked out the games with Brazil which is a bit of a let down. So much for calling it coverage.

The meanings are cracked! On eurosport the commentators said,that it must be draw, the man from betandwin said,that the german are the better one,..

? So I think I will go to a bar to see it on a big screen!
