Re: Euro 2008 Qual 15th Nov

Makedonija!

God bless Srecko (Lucky) Katanec... he made me believe in my national team since we are now well organized, hard defencing and with Goran Pandev as organizer of the attack, we can get into fight with any team. Now, we have problem with suspended Pandev and not playing Naumovski (attack). The defence is solid with Mitrevski, Sedloski and Noveski and of course Nikolovski Oka on the goal.

Not much to say about the greatness of the russian soccer and the greatness of their coach Gus Hiddink (though I don't like his kind of managing), but I am not convinced in their readyness to provide too much against our good defensive play.

I really expect low scoring game (although we can be very loose against eastern european teams like Romania , Bulgaria , the Chechs... but those games were not under Srecko's leading).

I expect that russians will go into the match from the start I also expect that we will have few counter attacking possibilities with the backcomer from injury Grozdanovski, a fast young attacker.

Katanec has said that he is more worried about russian game than the one with England since english are more predictable, and Russians with Titov as organizer can produce more imaginable and versatile play. They can be calm and combining in the middle and suprise with vertical attacks.
Katanec will be forcing playing in the 30-35 meters zone with flexible number of attacking and defencing players, in order not to let russians to lead and expand the game.
He also said that we lack execution of the chances and calmness in the play, but he's confident in the defense and he said that the we'll probably score a goal.

I also believe in this strategy which leads to nothing but to good fight in the midfield and a low scoring match.

By my local bookie I have this quotes: 1.60 @ Under and 2.51@DNB for Makedonija

Good luck to all who favour my team.

Russia:

Also it is good to mention that Hiddink has left the veterans Loskov, Radimov and Smertin back home and called up some young footbalers.

Russia will be relying on players mostly from the national league, with only one international player from Nurnberg, Ivan Saenko.

Hah, we have three internationals from Bundes liga: Noveski from Mainz, Mitreski from Cottbus and Vasoski from Eintracht F.

Re: Euro 2008 Qual 15th Nov

Poland having troubles with missings several players, but it's a chance for new players i think. Atleast some of them catch the chance and played realy great vs Portugal. There's nothing sure about Polish nt these days. they can play very bad game, and couple days later play game of their lifes .

Anyway : Kowalewski (gk, suspended);Golanski(r def,injured);Radomski(def/def mid central, injured), Rasiak (1001 ways to not score a goal, injured), Lewandowski (defensive mid central/c defender - doubtfull), Zurawski(striker/offensive mid. doubtful)

As for goalkeepers - i don't mind, altough Kowalewski is great one, we somehow have a 'factory' of goalkeepers and Boruc or Kuszczak aren't worse for sure.
I wonder how defence will look like, couse i don't like the idea of Zewlakow as center(to be honest, i don't like the idea of him playing at all ). Probably Baszczynski (hmmm) will take Golanski's place.

Goalkeepers: A. Boruc (Celtic Glasgow), T. Kuszczak (Manchester United).

Defenders: M. Żewłakow (Olympiakos Pireus), M. Baszczyński (Wisła Kraków), J. Bąk (Al-Ryyan), D. Dudka (Wisła Kraków), M. Wasilewski (Lech Poznan), G. Bronowicki (Legia Warszawa), K. Łągiewka (Krylia Sowietow).

Midifielders: R. Sobolewski (Wisła Kraków), M. Lewandowski (Szachtar Donieck), E. Smolarek (Borussia Dortmund), J. Krzynówek (VfL Wolfsburg), J. Błaszczykowski (Wisła Kraków), Ł. Garguła (GKS Bełchatów), P. Kaźmierczak (Boavista Porto), R. Murawski (Lech Poznan)

Strikers: T. Frankowski (Tenerife), M. Żurawski (Celtic Glasgow), R. Matusiak (GKS Bełchatów), P. Brożek (Wisła Kraków).

Re: Euro 2008 Qual 15th Nov

Macedonia – Russia

Pick: Under 2.5 goals
Odds: 1.65 @ Bwin
Stake: 4/10

Russia is not strong world strength in football anymore. Their fall started few years ago and they are not improving at all, no matter they hired great tactician in the name of Hiddink. They are struggling a lot lately and their results are not even near as everyone in Russia expected. For even worse atmosphere contributed Hiddink statement that even if Russia manages to qualify for the Euro 2008, he won’t be coaching them on that tournament.

Macedonia is playing the best football ever. Katanec (Slovenian coach who brought Slovenia on two major competitions) did a great job with small Macedonian team. He built great compact team with great team spirit. Macedonia has never been so optimistic about their national football, like now. There is great atmosphere in the team and everyone expects good result.

After hiring Katanec, Macedonia suffered only one loss, from England in Skopje, after conceding unlucky goal. All other matches ended with positive result. Katanec has his own style of play and for him the defense is the most important part (he said in one interview that Macedonia against Russia, Croatia and England will defend) and Macedonia has the best players in the defensive part.

Russian team is suffering from lack of creativity and that is the main reason why the team is not creating many chances. Their players are tall and relatively slow which will suit on Macedonian tactics for tomorrow’s match. Pandev, best Macedonian player and the only player that can create some chances is suspended which gives more chances for my bet to be successful.

I believe that Macedonia will not lose, but will they win I cannot say. I believe that low scoring draw is very possible outcome, and except of under 2.5 goals, my suggestions for this match are:

Draw either on half-time or full-time, odds 1.70 @ Bwin, Stake: 4/10 and
Both teams to score, pick: NO, odds 1.85 @ Bwin, Stake: 2/10
