The odds i put up ended up being off Bet365 as they seemed better. Just incase if anyone gets confused. I will be back with some analysis - hoping for a bit more luck than yesterday.

My bets im interested in at the minute is Japan to score first and Mexico to beat the Greeks.

Greece vs Mexico : ( Mexico @ 2.20 Canbet 10 pts)

This has to be an absolute 'no brainer': Mexico , and with ease.

Greece have twice shown themselves to be the one dimensional side that they've turned into since winning Euro 2004.
They lack any real creativity in build ups and are awful in front of goal. A really big dissappointment in their role as Euro Champs.
The team spirit that was evident during their title winning games is all but gone.
During this tournament they have managed a very poor 2 and 3 shots on goal in both games, and the midfield has never looked in control.

Mexico have a record 20 game unbeaten streak in their sights, and even though they have had chances before to qualify from tournament group stages with 100% results they have never managed it.
It might seem like it's on the cards for a draw ,or even loss to Greece , but you have to think it would take such a huge reversal in the team's belief and performances for this to happen.

It's important to note that their key player and regular Capt, Barca's Marquez, has yet to play due to injury, so the results so far are of an even higher standard than usual.

Mexico only had 45% possession against Brasil, but made it work for them. Brasil didn't look as fluid as they had against Greece, but that was down to the composure of the Mexicans and also some astute tactical play from their coach Lavlope.

Mexico have too much superiority in all areas of their play for Greece to be serious about getting anything from this match.

How will they cope with the movement of the Mexicans when they couldn't cope with the Japanese: a side which is well below, although similar to, the S Americans.?

Who will be the goal threat for Greece?

If the 48% poss. they had in both their previous matches produced only a total of 5 shots on goal in 180mins, why should we expect anything different against a side which is even better at keeping the ball?

This has to be a 10pt bet because of all the facts so far.

There is absolutely NOTHING to recommend a bet on Greece. They have achieved very little.
I gave them one last chance against Japan to come thru the match with a peformance to do some repair to their damaged reputation, but they failed.

To have this opportunity to back against them @ 2.20 is an absolute dream.

I couldn't live with myself if i bet anything other than a Mexico win!

China let me down big time last night, and Mexcio could do so again, but pretending that their isn't a huge difference in ability between these two would just be insane.

Cheers Eddy - you saved me doing a write up when you made all the valid points. I seen the Greeks are resting players and while it might bring about a better performance - the quality of the players is going to be less than normal.

Mexico are on course to make a record as the first Mexican side to go 20 games unbeaten so they have a lot to play for. Against Japan they started off slow and fell behind but showed their belief and fought back to take the win. With Brazil they held them well and limited them to nothing more than half chances. They are a fantastic side on the break with pace, creativity and clinical finishing. Like you said Eddy - their movement and pace the Greeks wont be able to cope with. Brazil played the same style as the Mexicans and the Greeks just couldnt handle it.

I am seeing a similar scoreline and performance that Brazil put in against them. The overs is a bit too dodgy so i will take the Mexicans outright.

My thinking behind the Japan to score first bet is that they have started strong in both games scoring the first goal but then fade away. Not sure if this is due to fitness or their opponents sussing them out, but it cost them against the Mexicans.

Brazil are a side that will always leave holes in the back and this will leave them vulnerable as they know a defeat and they are out and then the embarrassment of not making it past the group stages. I fancy them to win come 90 mins, but its worth a dabble on Japan at high odds like that.

Unlucky with the Japan bet - full marks to them. Seem to have played well according to my mate who watched it. Unlucky that they go out on goal difference.

Congrats to Mexico who have set a new national record for themselves in going games unbeaten!

Shame about the game though - safe to say i wont be checking out the highlights!
