Women's Under 17 World Cup - Trinidad and Tobago
Nigeria and North Korea kicked things off about 45 minutes ago and currently drawing 1-1.
Germany v Mexico in 10 minutes and the 8/1 on Mexico and 3.60 on the X2 is just too big. Mexico qualified ahead of the USA, who beat Germany in the previous tournament. I'd rate the Mexicans around the same level as USA so this represents value in my eyes. Available at Ladbrokes or BWin. Trinidad and Tobago vs Chile and South Africa v Korea Republic later tonight. |

Re: Women's Under 17 World Cup - Trinidad and Tobago
Only just realised this is on as I turned on to North Korea so far labouring to a 1-0 win over T&T.
Brightened up by a dog on the pitch mind you, and Im not talking about the ref! Better watch that those Koreans dont fancy a quick snack... Anyhoo, better catch up. Highlights time. Group A - Nigeria and Korea look like going through...Nigeria the usual, strong and fast up front, v dodgy at the back. Korea look weaker than usual, far less technically sound. Group B - jaysus! look at those Germany scores...9-0, 10-1, 3-0. Group C...looks like Japan and Spain to progress. Spains 4-1 win over Japan looks like pure jammyness, Japan battered them. Just the typical long, lucky, loopy shots. They seem awfully good at them as im watching them do the same to NZ. I like the look of these Japaneezes, their football is decent too. Group D - tightest one, all 4 on 3 points and hardly any goals scored. Ghana look decent, mental keeper too. Ireland dont so will need to check those odds. Toss a coin for Brazil v Canada. FFS, I guess I should have checked that there were odds about before spending half an hour catching up...guess Bwin will have them up tomorrow. Japan/Ghana double might do the trick. |

Re: Women's Under 17 World Cup - Trinidad and Tobago
Ghana were pretty poor, missed a pen and had a goal disallowed but Ireland deserved their win.
Thankfully the Irish brought up the goals bet on their own, and the Japanese won 6-0(and looked very good). Quarter Finals tomorrow and Thurs. |

Re: Women's Under 17 World Cup - Trinidad and Tobago
Take it you have missed the Germany games then yorkie
Brazil did look decent against Canada though, and have come through a tough group. I think they will beat Spain who I dont rate much at all, despite their good results. They were very fortunate to beat Venezuela who were much the better team for the almost the entire second half. I'll also take Japan to beat Ireland - Japan are excellent on the ball and technically superb, their goals have been quality. Also Korea look overpriced to beat Nigeria. Underdogs sure, but Korea coped with the germans well for much of their match and the Nigerian defence is always going to give up chances. 2pts Brazil to qualify v Spain @ 1.72. 1pts Japan v Ireland @ 2.15 0.5pts Korea to Qualify @ 4.00 All with Bwin. |

Re: Women's Under 17 World Cup - Trinidad and Tobago
Erm... Nope havnt seen Germany tbh
So tomorrow its Germany Vs N Korea and Nigeria Vs S KoreaJesus just seem some off Germany results they certainly like there goals dont they. So have Korea as well tbh only one of there matches have finished unders. It is quarter-final time at FIFA U-17 World Cup Trinidad and Tobago 2010, with Thursday’s two games pitching the holders against the form team of the tournament and Nigeria against the champions of Asia. Match of the day Germany-Korea DPR, Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, 19.00 Just who can stop the German juggernaut? The Europeans flattened everything in their path in Group B, chalking up big wins against Mexico, South Africa and Korea Republic and scoring 22 goals in the process. It is no surprise, then, to see Kyra Malinowski, Lena Petermann and Lena Lotzen out front as the tournament’s leading scorers with seven, five and four goals respectively. The task of halting their progress falls to the reigning champions, who have recovered well since losing to Nigeria 3-2 in their opening match. With Kim Kum-Jong playing a prominent role, the North Koreans kept cleans sheets in disposing of Chile and then Trinidad and Tobago, but have yet to hit the heights that made them inaugural world champions in the category two years ago. The other match Like the Germans, Nigeria racked up three wins in the group stage, coming from behind to down the North Koreans, edging out the hosts with a brace of late goals and then slamming five past Chile without reply. The understanding between strikers Francisca Ordega and Loveth Ayila has been vital to the Flamingoes’ progress so far, not to mention the instinctiveness of 'veteran' midfielder Ngozi Okobi. Last-eight opponents Korea Republic have yet to recapture the form they showed in winning the Asian qualification competition. Denied the services of injured striker Kim Dahye, the Taeguk Ladies will be looking to Yeo Min-Ji to carry the game to the Nigerians and gain revenge for the 2-1 defeat they suffered in the group phase at new Zealand 2008. The stat 3 - The number of teams out of these first four quarter-finalists to reach the last eight at New Zealand 2008, proof that the women’s youth programmes implemented by Korea DPR, their southern neighbours and Germany are continuing to bear fruit. Nigeria, who went out in the group phase two years ago, are not lagging behind either, having recently finished runners-up at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Germany 2010. What they said “Germany are a very powerful side. They have a lot of skill and physical strength to go with it and their players are technically gifted and very strong mentally. You can’t predict a result for a game like this but we’re going to give it our best shot because we want to retain the title,” Ri Song-Gu, Korea DPR coach. I think ill Take Germany HT/Ft @ Bet 365 10 pts @ 1.72 And in the other match its Nigeria Vs South Korea Nigeria won all there matches with all three going over, Korea won 2 lost 1 which was against Germany with them all going over. I believe this could go to extra time, Korean teams always seem to be lined upw ell and organised and all though they lost to Germany 3-0 they played very well in the other two group games. Ill take Korea on the double chance Korea or Draw 10 pts @ 2.05 |

Figured I'd rear my head again after that shocking first prediction!
![]() Been watching as many matches as I can and having a few punts along the way. I'd agree with your Japan shout Beanie, they were very unlucky to lose to Spain in the first game and then hammered Venezuela and New Zealand, looking very impressive in both games. I've not been impressed with any of the teams in group D, Brazil looked adequate against a stuffy Irish in the first, Ireland beat a poor Canada in the second though their pressing game against Ghana worked well. However, if they try the same against the Japanese they may well get taken apart. Spain v Brazil could go either three ways in my opinion. Neither side have really impressed me. A German victory is probably inevitable against North Korea the way the Germans have been playing. However, South Korea showed that they could contain the Germans, if just for one half. North Korea are slightly more disciplined and are the reigning champions at this level. If they can keep it tight they're more than capable of nicking a goal against the Germans. I don't think they should be anywhere near the 25.00 ( ) you can currently get on Betfair.Japan to beat Republic of Ireland @ 2.06 (Betfair) - 4/10 North Korea to beat Germany @ 25.00 (Betfair) - 1/10 |
