Re: Euro 2012 qualifying 2-3rd Sep

Mr Fixit is more optimistic though!

from
Mr Fixit looks at tonight's Euro 2012 qualifiers. | Mr Fixit's Tips

Quote:
EURO 2012 TOP TIPS SEPTEMBER 3

I LIKE my football at 3pm on a Saturday (although my team Clydebank kick off at 2pm) so a full card of Euro 2012 qualifiers on a Friday night seems a bit strange.
But it’s something we’re going to have to get used to and at least you can play up your winnings on any weekend league matches.
All the bugs guns are in action but the likes of Spain at Liechtenstein, Holland at San Marion and Russia at Andorra are as short as 1-100 to win.
They will win easily and probably to nil so back these bets as well as the handicaps.
Sides at better prices to make up the accers are Slovenia (4-6, Ladbrokes) at home to Northern Ireland, Croatia (4-6, 888Sport) in Latvia, Germany (4-7, Paddy Power) at Belgium and Italy (2-5, Power) in Estonia.
There are hardly any games which look close calls tonight but one is Lithuanua v Scotland.
George Burley’s reign started disastrously with defeat in Macedonai and Craig Levein is desperate to avoid a similar result in Kaunas.
He’s named a defensively-minded side without James McFadden and Graham Dorrans and will be looking to keep a clean sheet and nick the points.
Scotland’s away form suggests they’ll struggle but it’s a new era and I think they are too big to ignore at 7-4 with Ladbrokes.
Scotland only netted six goals in the World Cup qualifiers so a 1-0 success is their best hope. That pays 7-1 with Skybet while hot hitman Miller is 7-1 at Ladbrokes and Bet365 to score first.
Lithuania only scored 10 in their qualifiers so the game could produce under 2.5 goals (3-5 at Bodog).
England are a best 3-10 with the likes of William Hill at home to Bulgaria.
It could be a slow start for Fabio Capello’s injury-hit squad so look at draw HT/England FT at 7-2 with Ladbrokes.
Wayne Rooney will be hoping to improve on his World Cup showing and Paddy Power go 8-13 he scores, 13-5 he scores first, 13-5 scores two or more, 17-2 scores a hat-trick, 3-1 Rooney and Steven Gerrard both score and 7-1 Rooney scores a header.
Slovenia beat Northern Ireland 2-0 at home in World Cup qualifying and I can see a similar outcome.
Wales will do well to draw in Montenegro but the Republic of Ireland can see off Armenia by one goal away.
TONIGHT’S ACCER
Slovenia
Croatia
Sweden
Italy
Germany
SUPER SINGLE
Scotland (7-4, Ladbrokes)
BONKERS BET
Miller to score first
(7-1, Ladbrokes)

Re: Euro 2012 qualifying 2-3rd Sep

San Marino - Holland `over 4.5 goals` @ 2.08 (Betfair)
These 2 teams have met 4 times, all in european qualifying unsurprisingly - and they`ve resulted in an aggregate scoreline of 23-0 , with the games ending 4-0 & 6-0 in Holland, and 6-0 & 7-0 in San Marino. In both the games in San Marino the games were only 1-0 at HT ! So you can see how badly they tire.
In recent games San Marino have managed to lose 3-0 Slovenia, 7-0 Czech Rep, 10-0 Poland, 5-0 Slovenia, & 7-0 Slovakia. They dont have any punch at all ,and their latest game, against an italian amateur team in Foligno, they amazingly won 3-2 but still conceded 2!

Holland will realise that although they arent usually the biggest scorers in the world, the other teams in the group , Sweden, Finland, and Hungary, will look to plunder goals against the minnows, so Holland cant afford to sit back and take a nice easy 2-0 win. Theyve recalled Van Nistelrooy back to cover for the injured Van Persie, and he`ll be very eager to get on the scoresheet and narrow the gap on Patrick Kluiverts all time Holland goals of record of 40 (He`s on 33 currently). Its also Mark Van Bommels 1st game as captain after Giovanni Van Bronkhorst retired, and they`ll be eager to impress. Rafael Van Der Vaart, Wesley Sneidjer, Klaas Jan Huntelaar also start, in a stromg looking dutch team. Only 2 of the San Marino squad have over 40 caps in a very inexperienced line up (which may explain recent scorelines).

All in all, Holland will win, we all know that. And it will probably be around the 4-5 goal winning margin as the hosts tire - but they`re much more likely to get 6 or 7 than just get 3-4 imvho and the 2.08 is a shade of value and well worth a bet.

Re: Euro 2012 qualifying 2-3rd Sep

Right then the first International game today

China Vs Iran
China dont play a competitive game until the beginning of next year where as Iran have the West Asian Federation Championship in a few weeks and a couple of friendleys before hand to get there team ready. Both teams are in failry good form with China DWLWW only loss came to Portugal and they beat France. Irans last 5 are WWWWL losing to Mali in a friendley. Most of Irans games go over when they are playing away and the lack of there defence is comical especially when they played Thailand. Likewise the same with China as well but they have a much better strikeforce compared to Iran. If i was to pick a team to win id say China but my first bet of the day is

Over 2.5 Goals @ 2.30

Re: Euro 2012 qualifying 2-3rd Sep

Will give a miss to this round but few games looks good for betting.

Slovenia HW looks very good in my eyes. They are pretty good team and they should win games like this if they want to fight for top two places.

Bosnia will win easy IMO and handicap win should be an option.Ibricic is in great form so Bosnia -1 is takeable.

I do like Sweden in previous games.New coach, new style of play (offensive) and good play.New faces are there (Toivonen,Bajrami) and with Ibrahimovic will be dangerous team.HW

I would skip France and England. Both should win but it wont be easy.GL

Re: Euro 2012 qualifying 2-3rd Sep

All in all, a pretty predictable day. Scotland were shit, Wales will never qualify for a major tournement ever again and England beat a tem that are ranked somewhere near the jocks (i.e. fucking shit).

Ireland will get some bad press but they got a deserved win against a team that probably can play but chose not to, being satisfied with 30 yard shots that even Scott fucking Carson could have saved before going behind and then starting to actually play football. Armenia will shock some teams by scraping a draw, that's about it.

So, in summary, all the home teams (plus Ireland) gained no credit with the exception of NI who beat Slovenia - a creditable performance.

Re: Euro 2012 qualifying 2-3rd Sep

I thought Scotland's performance was better than Ireland's ODM and was against a better side also

First time I have ever seen Scotland go away, play well and actually control a game. Our lack of a goalscorer coupled with some bizarre sub decisions done us over.
