I remember watching Egypt in the Confederations Cup and they played some superb football. Looked a bit weak in defence from what I recall though but I enjoyed watching them. Will this side be similar to back then?

Defending champions Egypt are weakened with Mido, Amr Zaki and Mohamed Aboutrika all absent from the squad.

Zaki and Aboutrika are injured, while Mido failed to convince Egypt coach Hassan Shehata of his match fitness.

Mozambique v Benin 1930

This encounter is between two outsiders in this group. They both aim for 3 points as they meet group favourites Nigeria and Egypt in subsequent games. These teams have never been able to progress past first round in any of the previous AFCON they have been involved in. The Mozambiquan team will be led by Tico Tico who is a veteran of the 1996 AFCON. Benin will rely on the midfield genius of Sessegnon and the striking ability of Razak Omotoyossi. There is not much to choose between these two sides, just that the Beninois will shade it slightly with quality, but the Mozambiquans are quite a side to beat especially when they play in their region. I dont expet them to lose and neither will it surprise me if they win.
