I might have some of those Irish Odds , I've seen France struggle against far worse sides than Ireland over the last few years never mind playing at a full house @ Croke Park, the return leg might be another matter but the Irish love these type of games.

Ireland had a good game against a far superior France team the last team they came to Dublin and there was nothing between the sides until Henry came up with a bit of magic and scored a dipping shot over Given from 25yds. Henry isn't the same player / threat anymore and neither are the French team. Keep Ribery quiet and that's the team's creativeness gone.
But Ribery vs Kilbane....

Anyone any thoughts on the Russian game? i was looking at taking Russia ht/ft @ 10/11 William hill. how do these 2 traditionally fare?

Of the top of my head, there is no tradition between these two sides, they certainly didn't play an official game so far, and I haven't heard about any friendlies either.
Still considering all results in the qualifications I expect low scoring game , 0-1 goals, or 0-2 goals but the odds will be quite bad .......

For me the best bet for this round is Both sides (Portugal and Bosnia) to score.
Portugal at home and quite attacking against Bosnian side that is conceding goals regularly....
Bosnia, if at full strength, top attacking side against Portugal's defense with big problem at left back and very inconsistent Pepe at the hart of there defense.
Having Blazevic at the helm (whom I consider to be one of the top tactical coaches), I'm pretty sure that Bosnia will find a way to score.

I'll be supporting Ireland and I think they have every chance of winning but I'm also slightly concerned at the lack of goals that they score.

France have been very poor in recent years under Domenech and I can also see them struggling to score, so I think the best bet here may be under 2.5 goals.

Christ rc your fast becoming the artist of the one line put down, onedunme better watch out! ...think the smart money will be on under 2.5 in the Ireland game, prob be about 1.65ish i would have thought though without looking, which im not overly keen on..would certainly fancy Uruguay at home to Costa, but i imagine they will be about 1.4 or similar if they get a positive result in the away game and i know little about Costa so will try and watch that one i think to try and gauge where these two are at..bit surprised Costa are favourites for the home leg but i might be overestimating Uruguay a bit..have a think and come back to these i reckon..

As far as I'm aware, they have both been pretty poor in qualifying to date - Costa Rica finished behind Honduras and Uruguay have been struggling to find the back of the net.

However, of the two, I'd fancy Uruguay as they have the better players, simple as.

christ sorry for putting my view in on the game i fancy france to do it although i see ireland as a strong side i think that france will just scrape a win here maybe 1-0
