Re: African WC Qualifiers: 20/21st June
the RFO fancy Cameroon away at Gabon. Gabon have started well but they still think Cameroon will give them a wake up call. They dont like the form of Gabon's 3-0 win at togo ad think the cameroons need the 3pts more than them. seem to think its only a matter of time that cameroon's formidable squad start picking up the. wins
they like moroccoo's chances at home to Togo who will be missing Aresnal's Adebayor due to suspension |

Re: African WC Qualifiers: 20/21st June
Sorry guys i am late. My internet has been down since last saturday due to a fault from my ISP. Better late than never and i present my thoughts on this weekends fixtures. There are very difficult matches this weekend but i will try and give you my best.
Group 1 Morocco v Togo Morocco played an improved game away to Cameroun and should have won that game. They lost the first group game at home to Gabon. Togo after beating Cameroun got battered 3-0 by Gabon and travel to Rabat to face the might of Morocco. Morocco has a slight edge over Togo as West African sides do not fare well in North Africa. The odds are not attractive to me so i will stay away but Morocco should edge it. MOROCCO HOME WIN Gabon v Cameroun This would have been my nap for the week but the game has been postponed to 5 September to allow Gabon mourn and bury their dead president Omar Bongo. I would have been on a Gabon home win as their home has been a minefield to all visiting sides. Group 2 Tunisia v Nigeria A game hard to call. Tunisia has won its 2 matches whilst Nigeria has won 1 and drawn 1. Nigeria beat Kenya 3-0 but anyone who watched that match realised there were many loopholes in the Nigerian setup which the Kenyans couldn’t exploit and Tunisia can cause damage if Nigeria play the same way, however Nigeria are a very dangerous side and can hurt any team. Their win against France is an example. This match is good for watching but if i should pick a winner, it will be Tunisia win or draw(1x). Kenya v Mozambique These two sides will be fighting it out on who will be the third team from this group to qualify for the African cup of Nations. The first 2 slots will go to Nigeria and Tunisia. Kenya will have home advantage and altitude going their way and should start as favourites in this game. KENYA HOME WIN with small stakes Group 3 Zambia v Algeria Whoops another hard game to call. There are only 2 possible results in this game a home win or draw. I simply cant pick one as its 50-50. Algeria have been quite solid in this qualifiers but they are not good travellers and i can guarantee they wouldn’t win in Lusaka. The odds on 1x is small but that is the best option. ZAMBIA WIN OR DRAW (1x) Group 4 Sudan v Ghana My personal interest forbids me from betting on this game. Ghana surprised many people when they won away in Mali without a host of their stars. I did caution that Ghana performs well when odds are against them. The bookies have made them favourites for this tie against Sudan in Omdurman. Ghana have been camping in Kenya to acclimatise because of the altitude. Sudan has always been a difficult place for Ghana, but with the morale in camp of the Ghanaians a win is not beyond them but value clearly lies in the draw. I wouldn’t be betting on this game. Mali v Benin Mali got well beaten by Ghana and Benin managed a slim victory over Sudan. Mali with their stars start this game as favourites but looking at their game against Ghana, they have to improve to stand any chance of beating Benin. I still fancy Mali to come out strong and win this encounter. MALI HOME WIN Group 5 Guinea v Malawi This is my banker for the weekend as there will be no other result than a home win. Malawi are the whipping boys of this group. Guinea will also definitely cover the handicap GUINEA HOME WIN GUINEA -1 Burkina Faso v Ivory Coast The game of the weekend. Burkina Faso are a hard nut to crack especially at home and Ivory Coast have been solid in this qualifiers. The 3 bets on mind are BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE OVER 2.5 GOALS BURKINA FASO WIN OR DRAW |

Re: African WC Qualifiers: 20/21st June
zambia clean sheet @2.62 - algeria are rather poor travellers and failed to shoot a single goal in previous 4 away trips in this campaign. zambians are hard to beat at home, they lost just 3 games in last 43 quialifiers.
kenya clean sheet @2.74 - here i see kenya as clear favorites, mozambique play badly away and shot just 5 away goals in 16 away qualifiers in last decade. morocco with clean sheet @1.98 - morocco still have fair promotion chances after exceptional home 1-2 loss against gabon. they are really powerful at home with 16-2-1 home record since wc 2002q with score 42:7. togo are fine but just in their ground. gl and thanks kponkpa |
