Re: 10-11th Feb International Friendlies
as its on the tele i'm going to have a small bet on Italy to win.
I've saw them a couple of times of late and they have confidence - although it's a friendly and the result doesn't really matter.... it will to them. I think they'll take this pretty serious and small stakes are on them a 2-2 or 3-3 entertaining game will also please |

Re: 10-11th Feb International Friendlies
Ireland are available at around 1.6 to keep a clean sheet against the Georgians which in my opinion is worthy of a lay. For the first time in a long while, Ireland are going into a match with a lot of question marks surrounding their centre back pairing. Generally it has been a case of Richard Dunne excelling, cleaning up any mistakes that his defensive partner may have made. But Dunne is having a poor season and he has been making errors for Man City with alarming regularity. Two red cards and three own goals tell their own story in what has been a season to forget for the Honey Monster. As well as this, Dunne has only played 53 minutes of football since the start of the year and he's bound to be a little rusty when he takes the field against Georgia. John O'Shea will most probably partner Dunne and almost unbelievably he looks the stronger of the pair going into the game.
The Georgians will almost certainly sit back and play on the counter against Ireland just like they did against the Italians. Although Georgia didnt score that evening they did have two excellent chances which they could easily have put away. That Italian defence is a lot stronger than the Irish one and therefore it wouldn't surprise me if they got on the scoresheet this evening. Shay Given is a truly world class goalkeeper but I have a feeling, a la his Newcastle days, his defence will let him down. Despite these reservations, I still feel Ireland will have enough to see off the Georgians. Giovanni Trapatonni will have been mightily pleased with the Irish players improved club situations over the past month or so. Given finally escaping the mad house of St James' Park to join Man City was well overdue. Robbie Keane ending his Anfield nightmare and being handed the captain's armband by Redknapp will have done wonders for his confidence. Kevin Kilbane leaving Wigan for regular football at Hull with Stephen Kelly moving up a division to join Stoke. And Glenn Whelan has managed to nail down a permanent place in Stoke's midfield which Traps will be particularly pleased with. All in all these have been a positive few months for Team Traps. So who's gonna grab the goals? Top of the list for me has to be the newly crowned Irish Player of the Year, Kevin Doyle. He's the top scorer in the Championship for Reading and has already scored against the Georgians in the corresponding fixture in Mainz last year. Doyle should be available at around 2.4 with Betfair punters to score at anytime during the game and looks to be decent value at those odds. Obviously if I think Georgia will score and Ireland will win the over 2.5 goals market is going to be of interest to me. Over 2.5 goals is available at 1.91 and is worth a play this evening. Obviously Georgia aren't in the same class as Poland but anybody who seen the Polish score three times against Ireland at Croke Park can't be confident of the Irish keeping a clean sheet. So a massive game for the Irish on Wednesday evening and one which I feel we can just manage to get through. The Georgians will keep it tight and it will be up to Duff and McGeady to work their magic and supply the ammunition for Keane and Doyle to fire. A midfield of Whelan Gibson/Andrews isn't going to create much so it's vital our wide players see plenty of the ball. Whelan's set pieces have been impressive for Stoke recently and they may be another source of joy. So a narrow victory for the Irish with a couple of scares along the way mean a small play on the 2-1 scoreline at 9.0 could also be worth a punt. Good luck to all who have a bet and good luck to Traps in his quest for three precious points! Recommended Bets: Lay an Ireland Clean Sheet @1.6 Over 2.5 goals @1.9 Doyle to score anytime @2.4 Ireland to win 2-1 @9.0 (I wrote the original here: Betfair | Soccer Betting Tips: Ireland v Georgia, World Cup Qualifier | ?35 Free Bet in case anybody think's I've been copying somebody else!) |

Re: 10-11th Feb International Friendlies
Brazil might be full of superstars but we should remember that, world cup finals aside, they almost always fail to impress. Ten minutes gone and it's a very lively 0-0 so far but I've layed Brazil at around 2/1.
I also think the over 2.5 goals is looking likely judging by the start. |

Re: 10-11th Feb International Friendlies
Italy have had the chance to score six goals. It just isn't going to happen for them.
Same story for Brazil. Great going forward - shit defending. |

Re: 10-11th Feb International Friendlies
Im going for a big single on Nigeria against Jamaica tonight. Jamaica will be missing first choice players Ricardo Fuller, Ian Goodison, Ricardo Gardner and goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts also fringe player Darren Pratley who was due to make his debut. Although both have improved lately I was surprised to see Nigeria had risen to 23 in the world rankings and the coach has said he will field the strongest possible XI with a view towards the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. With the depleted squad Jamaica have I cant see them putting up much of a fight, if anyone has watched any African cup of nations football last year they will know the kind of clowns many african nations have as back up goalkeepers which may also help the bet along.
Nigeria 8/11 (Bet365) |

), but if it's Jamaica that are missing their keeper, then what's that got to do with African nations having clowns as backup keepers? |

Re: 10-11th Feb International Friendlies
Lol, fair point rc, geography never was my strong point!
In his place they have called up goalkeeper Dwayne Miller plays for Harbor View in Jamaica and has three caps, his second cap was against Iran when he conceded 4 before half time and was replaced, they went on to lose 8-1! |
