CAF Youth Championships
The second group games are on today and tomorrow
Today 21 January 2009 Ghana vs Mali Cameroun vs Rwanda 22 January 2009 Nigeria vs Ivory Coast Egypt vs South Africa Ghana - Mali The Black Satellites of Ghana come face to face with the Eaglets of Mali. Ghana drew the first game 1-1 with Cameroun whilst the Malians lost the opening game by 2-1 to the host Rwanda. I wasnt impressed with the general play of the Malians, though they seem to have a very good and confident goalkeeper. I believe they will lift up their game in the encounter with Ghana today or else if they loose then they are out . Ghana on the other side have no one to blame for their drawn game with Cameroun, after conceeding an early goal in the first 30secs of the game, they came back strongly and completely dominated the Camerounians with their sleek skills, speed and passing but failed to convert the numerous chances they had. They should have earned the max points however they managed to draw with a goal from skipper Andre Dede Ayew, son of the legendary Abedi Pele. Todays encounter will be very difficult, if the Malians do not improve on their play and the ghanaians find their scoring touch which i believe with their quality they would sooner than later then they are in for a thrashing, however if the Malians improve on their play then this would be a typical West African tie close to call. I still expect the Ghanaians to win the game. My prediction: GHANA WIN Cameroun - Rwanda The host meet cameroun in the second game of the group. Rwanda are nothing special but have the home crowd behind them. They are physical strong and equally tall as the Camerounians who as i said earlier do not look like U20s. The Rwandans rely on counter attacks and long balls which they hope their tall strikers will pounce on. The Camerounians as i saw against the Ghanaians are just like their senior counterparts(if only they are not older than their seniors), very physical. Cameroun have the tendency in ruining the happiness of the host. They have to win the match at all cost to stand a chance of progressing whilst the Rwandans may be a bit relaxed and play for a draw. Personally i wouldnt be betting on this match but if pushed to choose a winner, i believe the camerounians will edge it and beat Rwanda The Ghana game is on a midday that is 1200hrs GMT and the cameroun game 2hrs 30 mins after the Ghana game GOODLUCK TO ALL |

Re: CAF Youth Championships
Guys i will be brief today as i am at an internet cafe. My internet service at home is down and the engineers will be there later in the day to work on it.
Today Nigeria play Ivory Coast and Egypt play South Africa Nigeria Vs Ivory Coast In the first game Ivory Coast were just woeful, but i expect them to improve their play especially as they are playing their West African rivals Nigeria. Judging from what i saw in their previous games i still dont think the Ivorians will have much to offer. This is my main bet for today. Nigeria win Also some thoughts on other bets if you manage to find them Nigeria-1, Nigeria to keep a clean sheet, all small to medium stakes, but my main bet is Nigeria to win. South Africa vs Egypt. The Egyptians really surprised me the other day as they were simply no match for the classy Nigerians, however they face a possible elimination if they fail to win this match, and coming against the fact that they will be host for the World cup later in the year, they will come out guns blazing to save their pride and image. I wasnt impressed with the South Africans in their first game though they managed to win. I wont be betting on this match but i fancy Egypt to fight back and win this tie. My main and only bet is Nigeria to win and small stakes on Nigeria -1 and Nigeria to keep clean sheet. Since my service is off i wont be online till its restored later in the day by the engineers. Goodluck and bye for now |

Re: CAF Youth Championships
Sorry, i have previewed the final group games in that group, Its rather Nigeria vs South Africa and Egypt vs Ivory Coast. The only bet for today which i believe is free money, only if the 9th wonder happens today is Nigeria to beat South Africa well.
Please i will stake highly on Nigeria win and medium stake on Nigeria -1. My stake is 500 Euro on Nigeria win and 150 Euro on Nigeria -1 and 50 Euro on Nigeria not to conceed, that is if i find the odds. I believe it is free money. The Egypt game is a no Bet for me. Sorry for the earlier post, that is for the next matches on Sunday. |

Re: CAF Youth Championships
!st Half has ended and the score is still 0-0. Nigeria, myself and all those who followed my tip should count ourselves lucky and hope for an improved second half. Seriously speaking Nigeria should be a least 3-1 down to the South Africans who are completely outplaying the Nigerians. Nigeria had a penalty in the 4th minute only for that too sure and over confident captain Haruna to miss. I believe the Nigerians are too sure of themselves and if they underrate this South African side, they will make us laugh at the wwrong sides of our mouth. I hope they play better in the 2nd half. I am off to watch the 2nd half

Re: CAF Youth Championships
Well what can i say, i am very sorry for all who followed my tip on Nigeria to win. I have lost a lot of cash on this game but what else can i do. These bunch of overgrown, useless twats who showed no commitment and played as if there was nothing at stake. They lost all 50-50 balls, aerial situations surprinsingly to the shorter South Africans. They were out run in all dept of the game and they didnt look like winning. The scoreline is a true reflection and the Nigerians were even lucky not to have conceeded a lot of goals. Sorry to all those who followed my tip once again and i promise i will make it up to you.

Re: CAF Youth Championships
Last group games today and tomorrow.
I dont fancy any bets today in the CAF Youth championships, but i will share my thoughts with those who might be interested. GHANA VS RWANDA The host face one of the competition favourites Ghana. Both teams have 4 points and Ghana needs just a draw to be guaranteed a place at the World Cup in Egypt and a semi final berth, whereas the Rwandans need a win to be assured a place in the World cup and the semi finals, a draw could also do for them depending on the result in the Cameroun-Mali game. The Ghanaians were not that impressive in the game with Mali but managed to win. The defence didnt look well organised and they lost all aerial balls. The Ghanaian team if not mistaken looks the most handicap when it comes to physique and height, luckily the dependable defender Jonathan Mensah has finally arrived in camp after his South African team Free State Stars delayed his release. He has the physical and aerial presence to balance things in defence for the Ghanaians. The Ghanaians rely much on their skill, speed, fitness and passing. The Rwandans on the other hand are nothing special as they rely mostly on long balls and counter attack. All their three goals in the competition have come from set pieces, and coming against a Ghanaian side without much aerial presence, its possible they can can a goal or two. They will also have the home crowd behind them and that could have an effect on refereeing as well. Nontheless, i dont think the Ghanaians will be scared. The arrival of Jonathan Mensah has really boosted confidence and they have held the forth quite well against equally physical sides like Cameroun and Mali. A Draw looks the likely result but if i had to choose a winner, Ghana has much more quality than the Rwandans. Cameroun vs Mali The Camerounians will be hoping to win big against the Malians and they will definitely be guaranteed a place in the next round. Mali are out and no result will help their course. They are simply playing for pride which is their only motivation i guess. Cameroun start as favourites and i expect them to win. As i stated earlier i wont be betting on todays games, will lump all into tomorrows action. Good luck to all. |
