Re: FIFA U17 Women's World Cup 28/10 - 16/11
Great stuff lads
You'd had me convinced as well, but couldn't be bothered going to the extent of opening an account with Bwin to actually put anything on it ![]() |

Re: FIFA U17 Women's World Cup 28/10 - 16/11
Didnt realise bet365 were pricing this up stonecold?
Japan 3-2 USA Prices look a lot tighter for the 2nd set of games... U17 World Cup - Women, World 1:00 AM Colombia (U17) 3.85 X 3.55 Canada (U17) 1.70 1:00 AM Ghana (U17) 9.00 X 6.50 Germany (U17) 1.16 4:00 AM Costa Rica (U17) 6.75 X 5.50 Korea DPR (U17) 1.25 4:00 AM New Zealand (U17) 6.00 X 4.00 Denmark (U17) 1.40 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just watching Canada v New Zealand - the Canadians look like they've got some very nippy forwards - some feckin hilarious bits too - the highlights around 2:00 are superb ![]() Denmark look good going forward and have an absolute giant in midfield who looks far bigger, stronger and faster than the girls she's against. Dodgy at the back but should probably have beaten Colombia. Those prices look fairly solid - doubt the Danes will have much trouble v NZ, and Colombia don't look great - the speed of the Canadian attack will cause them all sorts of bother so if anything I'd be on Canada there. Onto Group B - Germany look every bit as good as 5-0 suggests - just a class apart. Costa Rica not great at all - imagine they'll get beaten 3 times in this group. Ghana v DPR looked like a good matchup - DPR very solid technically, Ghana much faster/stronger. --------------------------------------------- Bets of interest then - Ghana v Germany over 2.5 @ 1.45 looks good enough - a match made for plenty goals imo(mainly German.) The Ghanaian defence looks quick but very suspect - the Germans are a big side and if they chuck plenty of balls in the box then they'll get as many chances as they want. Ghana could be good for the odd breakaway goal too, but I'd imagine the Germans will get the bet in on their own. Germany and DPR look too strong here so not much interest in the match odds for those. Canada perhaps the most attractive price but overall maybe just a bunch of matches to give a swerve. |

Re: FIFA U17 Women's World Cup 28/10 - 16/11
I don't forsee any problems for the favs tonight - and with their nippy forwards I think Canada are probably overpriced at 1.70 against a dodgy looking Colombia.
Germany look so much better than any other side and I'd think they'll steamroller Ghana from what I saw. Denmark not for me at 1.40, ditto DPR at 1.25. So just a little double: 2pts Germany/Canada @ 1.97 with bwin. |

Re: FIFA U17 Women's World Cup 28/10 - 16/11
Bah. I was hoping Colombia would look a bit worse but I thought they appeared decent enough going forward. Lovely finish for the goal. I noticed the stats too at the end saying they had most of the possession against the Danes and I'm a wee bit scared of them now to be honest.
Just watched Canada again though and.... they do look not bad when they run at the defence. Some pretty bad misses though. Few more viewings required for me but I'm touch and go on that one at the moment whereas I think I'm a definite on New Zealand now. They really came back at Canada after conceding and could have nicked a draw on another day I feel. And they also had the bulk of possession according to the match stats at FT. Home turf too and no doubt looking to make up for that Canada defeat (girl crying at the end I noticed ) I think they are pretty closely matched with the Danes in this and I'll take New Zealand not to lose @ 2.40 and also a mini chunk on the win @ 6.00 - Denmark look capable of causing problems I admit with their height but they didn't look to have a great deal of quality to me. Gulp.Germany on the other hand do look top quality. A couple of impressive goals and overall they appear techinically very good. Going to be hard to beat and I can see them scoring plenty in this tournament. |

Re: FIFA U17 Women's World Cup 28/10 - 16/11
I think there's the potential for a few goals in the Colombia v Canada match - both look decent going forward, the Canadians in particular (the Colombia number 9 looks pacy too mind) and as with most of these sides, they're slightly dodgy at the back.
I'm hoping Canada will be a bit sharper in front of goal and wouldn't be at all surprised to see Colombia notch another neat one so........... feck. I'm going to double it with the over 2.5 in the Germany match too. I'm so rubbish. The Germans look pretty clinical though. They're Germans. Colombia v Canada over 2.5 @ 1.85 Ghana v Germany over 2.5 @ 1.45 Don't judge me! ![]() |

Re: FIFA U17 Women's World Cup 28/10 - 16/11
Group A
Colombia (4.20) v (1.70) Canada New Zealand (6.00) v (1.40) Denmark I'm just going off highlights here, but my take on the first games lead me to a bet on Colombia while I'll possibly put Denmark in some kind of double. I thought Colombia showed enough going forward against a highly rated Denmark side, despite some defensive frailties, to really trouble a lot of the teams in this tournament. Canada showed a great deal of attacking intent against New Zealand and created plenty of chances. Some of that was due to a decent Canadian forward line, but I thought a great deal of the chances were due to a rather dodgy Kiwi defence. They just looked lost at the back but they did show a bit more attacking intent and created a few chances against the highly rated Canadians. I think Colombia showed enough against Denmark to cause the Canadian backline some problems and wouldn't be suprised to see them come away with a win. Their defence is a concern after looking decidedly dodgy up against Denmark, but the Canadians are a less physical side. I also don't think the Canadians are likely to get as many chances against Colombia as they did against New Zealand, their dodgy finishing could come back to haunt them if so. Colombia @ 4.20 - 1 point Group B Ghana (9.00) v (1.16) Germany Costa Rica (6.75) v (1.25) Korea DPR Germany were absolouty immese against Costa Rica and showed why they're one of the favourites for the tournament. Costa Rica really didn't show too much, but did create one or two decent chances. The Korea DPR v Ghana looked like a dire affair, both teams mainly restricted to long shots and both goals, arguably, as a result of goalkeeping errors. Germany look almost certain to win against Ghana, while I don't think Costa Rica should be such big outsiders against Korea DPR. Yes, Germany ripped them apart but the Germans were almost professional in the play. Costa Rica didn't look too bad defensively, despite the five goals conceded, and even threatened the Germans with two decent attacking moves. As stated, Korea seemed to threaten Ghana mostly from long range, but equally restricted Ghana to a lot of long range shots. May well be a tight game, something which the price on Costa Rica doesn't reflect, but I'm not quite sure if I'm confident enough in the Ticas to bet on them. The other bet, not a suprise really, is a Germany and Denmark double. The European teams showed in their first matchs that they're probably the most likely winners of the tournament, even Denmark probably should have beaten the Colombians. Denmark should really have too much for New Zealand while Ghana didn't show enough to suggest they'll trouble the Germans. Germany + Denamrk @ 1.62 - 4 points Last edited by Napoleon Solo : 31-10-2008 at 21:00. |

Re: FIFA U17 Women's World Cup 28/10 - 16/11
Foik! Just lost a post.
As I was saying.... I think my wee kiwi angels are going to surpise you, Napoleon. They're determined to stay in this competition and won't let the home fans down. I don't really think they're a 5/1 shot and can see them snatching at least a point. Urrgh. You've stolen my confidence a bit on this. Those wee nippy Canadians would give most defences in this a tough time I think and I feel New Zealand performed well enough against an apparently useful side. More possession and about the same shots on goal as far as I could make out from the stats at the end although their chances weren't quite as clear cut, I accept that. Still one or two decent ones. I live in hope. S'all I ever really have. ![]() ![]() "Bleh!" |

Re: FIFA U17 Women's World Cup 28/10 - 16/11
The overs looking good in Canada Colombio game. Was 1-1 after 10 mins - 20 mins gone now and looks like loads more. Germany leading 0-1 too....
edit: 0-2 Germany now. Colombia as we thought, look a very useful side going forward. Play some lovely stuff and a few tricky players and very lively overall. They're edging this so far. Definitely. Canada's nippy players haven't had much of the ball as yet that I've seen. 1-1 HT and Colombia look very good and certainly on top although I only saw from 17th min on - commentator said Canada looked good early... until scoring. At which point Colombia pretty much took control. Gimme another goal and I'm happy. I reckon we'll get another for sure. Gulp. Canada replaced their scorer for 2nd half. They needed to change something I think. Need more possession. Very tight so far 2nd half with little space anywhere but Colombia still look more threatening and techinically superior. Worrying for my New Zealand bet as Canada look rotten so maybe I've given the kiwis too much credit for coming back against them. Ghana pull a goal back - one overs in. Gulp. As for this match.... tight. Canada coming back a wee bit. 1-3 Germany now... Canada dominating now as Colombia tire. Some woeful efforts on goal though. And the referee is god awful. OMFG!!! Fantastic save from Canada keeper. Looked in the top corner. Bah. Tallest keeper in the tournament I believe. Damn it. 2-3 Germany now... Great chance missed for Colombia with a couple of minutes left. Some poor finishing overall by both sides, Holy shit. Howler in injury time by Colombia keeper but Canada can't put it in, FT 1-1 and noooo idea how the overs didn't come in. Canada rank rotten to be honest. Came back in last half hour after Colombia tired but the Colombians a far better side on this showing. And I've given New Zealand a lot of credit for coming back against Canada which doesn't seem to mean much now. Still in with a shout though I hope.Last edited by MickeyPaul : 01-11-2008 at 02:54. |

Re: FIFA U17 Women's World Cup 28/10 - 16/11
Whooooah. New Zealand @ 7.2 now for the win and 2.77 not to lose. I'm going to have a wee bit more on them. Not that I fancy their chances much now having seen how shit Canada are but.... to be honest... as we've already said, there isn't a great deal between most of these sides and anything can happen. Ghana giving Germany a scare there is one example. I think it'lll be a bit tighter than the odds suggest. Maybe it's all hope. I'm staying up for it anyway.
