Re: 14th Jun: World Cup Qualifying Africa
It has to be
Egypt, Ivory Coast, cameroon and Morocco. All aways and all odds on. Good luck |

Re: 14th Jun: World Cup Qualifying Africa
I'd check whether Drogba's playing before trusting the Ivory Coast too much. 2 games played without him so far in the qualifiers, and a 1-0 home win over Mozambique and a 0-0 draw in Madagascar weren't exactly convincing results.

I hate posters who waste everyones time like that with shitty posts saying rubbish like that.
I guarantee you if you were to bet this everytime it came round you would be in the red badly. Wanker. |

Re: 14th Jun: World Cup Qualifying Africa
Very knowledgeable Andy, well constructed arguments for and against each team. I'll certainly be keeping a eye on your selection!
![]() Home advantage usually plays an important part in qualifying in Africa, some teams struggle outside their own territory despite, even against the lowliest of minnows. Malawi aren't exactly the greatest of team but they have been quite solid at home in previous qualifying campaigns, while Egypt sometimes tend to struggle on their travels. 2/1 could be worth taking on the 1X double chance at Wauwbet! Ivory Coast are missing some important players when they travel to Botswana and could be caught short again. They've struggled against Madagascar and Mozambique and could find the going tough again. Again, the 1X is 2/1 with Betsson. Both Rwanda and Morocco go into their match with two wins from two, but Morocco are missing a trio of important players: Tarik Sektioui, Badr El Kaddouri and Mbark Boussoufa. Rwanda are no light-weights at home as previous qualifying campaigns have demonstrated. Once again the 1X double chance is the preferred betting option and is available at 6/4 at Bet365. One final 1X bet is in the Burundi against Tunisia match. Both teams have fallen to Burkina Faso, Burundi away while Tunisia lost at home. Once again, the home team tend to be quite solid on their own patch in qualifying tournaments. The bet is 5/4 at Betsson. Two home wins I quite fancy are Uganda and Gambia. Uganda are generally strong at home and did what was needed to beat Niger, though the 1-4 loss at Benin would have been disappointing. Angola are usually the best of travellers so the 11/4 at 10Bet looks quite large. Gambia are similarly strong at home while Algeria are no great shakes on their travels, the 21/10 on the home win once again looking quite juicy. Malawi 1X at 2/1 Botswana 1X at 2/1 Rwanda 1X at 6/4 Burundi 1X at 5/4 Uganda 1 at 11/4 Gambia 1 at 21/10 Level staked singles on each for me! |

Re: 14th Jun: World Cup Qualifying Africa
Well done, mayo. I didn't have the heart to bet against the big names outright, but I would have if offered -1.5 A.H. on each of them.
I kew travelling for 2 weeks (this is the 2nd successive away game for each of the top seeds) would probably prove to exhausting, especially in Africa. For example, and apart from Egypt being seriously depleted, they travelled to Sanaa (Yemen) then off to Djibouti klast weekened, then backwards to Sanaa and cairo, only to take of to Pretoria (via Nairobi) then to Malawi. They will also be back the same route, but -hopefully- the home advantage will compensate for the exhaustion next weekend, plus "some" players maybe fit again (Amr zaki and Met'eb for instance, as Egypt had to give youngster Ahmad Rarouf his international debut in Malawi with Zaki, Met'eb, Zidan, Mido and Abou Treika all out, and that's to name only the strikers). Mayo was spot on because he seems to know what he was talking about. I'll be sure to compare my own predictions with his next weekend before placing any bets. Backing the favourites all the way evenry time is certain to get you bankrupt in Africa. All I can say is there are only 3-4 teams (of all 47 participants) to bet against every game, and only ONE of them (Djibouti) woul be considered a banker. With Niogeria yet to play today, only 2 teams collected 9 points from the opening 3 games, and these were Burkina Faso and Rwanda (!!). Swaziland has yet to rop a point as well, but they have only played 1 game, and are hosting zambia shortly in their 2nd game. Another factor that you may want to consider in Africa is the quality of refereeing. At this level, referees from almost all of the continent participate, and many still think the home team should have "officials" on their side as well. Shameful, but absolutely true. 'nough said |

Re: 14th Jun: World Cup Qualifying Africa
Oh well, Tunisia win 1-0 so no clean sweep for me!
Still, I'm more than happy with my winnings, best day of betting in a long time from me!Cheers for the praise guys (bromsgrovegreen aside for jinxing me! ). I'm not really much of a follower of African football bakakadassa, I just had nothing else to bet on so I was doing a great deal of reading up about the African stuff on Friday. I usually stick to English football, but I might start sticking my neck out on other competitions if I can find any good sources of information. ![]() I'm a girl btw, just so you all stop referring to me as he, his, him, etc Look, I've changed my avatar just so you don't forget. ![]() |

Re: 14th Jun: World Cup Qualifying Africa
Ok, I do apologise for referring to you as a "he"...
![]() It's just so unusual for a lady to be knowledgeable enough about this game to be placing bets AND with good reasoning behind them. However, I did get a "hint" on the Super Cup thread, but by the time I read that one it was too late, so.. I do apologise once more. |

Re: 14th Jun: World Cup Qualifying Africa
How did Andy get on? You cant kill a man for daring to share surely? Ooops i forgot there's a hard and fast rule Andy to protect TDP Forum Society as a Whole 'no unsolicited tips' Cruel to be kind Andy. Just a little for why. If i was on some teams i would have said-
"I fancy the Cameroon as 1.4 is ok for a team thats won x amount of games v anothger team thats won z amount of games. Egypt seems a good price at 2.14 with Bet365 and im gonna chance Lesbothe. All thoughts apprevciated before i just throw my money away on my 4 odds on aways? thanks komp" Anyhow i appreciate the views Andy but those bloody rules eh? ![]() |
