Re: 4/7th Feb International Friendlies

Malta are set to continue to rotate the starting line-up for this match. Iceland dominated much of the early preceedings against Belarus, before Belarus scored after half an hour. Iceland created numerous chances afterwards, but Belarus pretty much dominated the second half. However, Belarus are a far better team than the Maltese, whose squad consists of domestic based players and none of the foreign based contingent (Coventry's Mifsud, for example).

Iceland to beat Malta @ 1.70 (Mybet.com) - 3 points

Re: 4/7th Feb International Friendlies

Lots of talk on another forum regarding the Germany U21 V Belgium U21 friendly tonight at 5pm.Basically its a Belgium U23 team and the players are quiet handy.Plus Paddy Power has Belgium at 7-1 for a win,4-1 draw no bet or even 4-7 with a +2 goal head start!!!!I think I'll take a little nibble for a Belgium win and stick a bit more on the +2 goals bet at 4-7.Its really a gamble as I dont have a clue about either team.Regards,Micky

Re: 4/7th Feb International Friendlies

a lot of international friendlies today, unfortunately no traffic here...

anyway my picks are :

Ireland v Brazil 1X - normally bad brazil in friendlies, star players are missing-

Israel v Romania 1X - Israel very impressive against russia, romania never persuaded me away from home-

Croatia v Holland 1 - perhaps the betting opportunity of the day, dont miss it, holland was very poor away from home during qualification matches, today missing important regulars, croatia hungry to win at split-

England v Switzerland away team not to score- means that i dont trust english squad, but with capello now, i think is almost impossible to concede from guests, after all they are nothing special-

Greece v Finland 1 - this is the second friendly within two days for european champions, however, they will field the strongest team today, yesterday they used youngsters-

good luck

Re: 4/7th Feb International Friendlies

Cheers Folks

International frendlies aint my deepest love, but I decided to give it a try

First one for me is Croatia against depleted Holland. Bilic takes all games very seriosly. I can recall, he stated in one interview that to him is also important world raking of croatia and secondly imo he is quite keen on his own record. Holland comes weakened and I guess with bit less desire than we are.

Second one is Bulgaria. They changed coaches, and is hard to say how will they do with the newest, but in my book they are way better side than Irish.

Third is Portugal. I really cannot recall when have Italy played well in friendlies. So look their team again. Portugall I supose take those games more serious and with few players on fire, at this odds it is must bet for me.

England. Despite I still cannot trust england, rate swiss as solid side, find odds shite, cannot help my self and give England a go. It is for one thing more hope then serios thinking, that under Capello England will be better and for second thing, they are due to their faithfull fans one good game.

Last one is Spain. Always liked them home, doesnt matter whom are they playing.

So those 5 in system 4 out of 5.

Re: 4/7th Feb International Friendlies

Don't normally like betting on friendlies, but I've found a market I quite like the look of with the total bookings. Sporting Odds have odds of 2.5, 2.625 and 2.5 respectively for there to be 20 pts or more (10pts a booking, 25 a sending off) in the England, Northern Ireland and Wales games.

I've no stats whatsoever to back this up in terms of how many bookings friendlies tend to produce, but I don't find it all that difficult to imagine any of those games throwing up 2 yellow cards over the course of 90 minutes.

Re: 4/7th Feb International Friendlies

to you too johnny, I have opposed England simply because i think you get a bit of value living in this fair land and opposing the home nation.

Good luck to the Italian but he can't mask the fact that we are a million miles from a team who could win the world cup or any other trophy! (IMHO)

Re: 4/7th Feb International Friendlies

I rate english football as one of the best in world. Lack of good coaches was always problem overthere, I guess. Capello will for sure make team out of great potential, but to win something big IMHO it is important that coachs heart is beeting for his country. Capelo can anytime just go away if unhappy.
I am realy sure he will make it work and see England in quoter, semi or even in final of WC. But too take the cup, there will be more required.

Re: 4/7th Feb International Friendlies

I think England could have gotten a bigger test than Switzerland (if they had have wanted) and I'm looking at this as to be a 'comfortable' win...... nothing great but to easy Cappello into the hot seat. Not saying its fixed but it could have been trickier.

I've backed 5 games to finish draws

Israel v Romania
Slovenia v Denmark
Croatia v Holland
Italy v Portugal
Spain v France
