1.30 Newbury.

Panzer now qualifies for handicap company after 3 promising novice runs. He is well rated on the flat - won a 12f hcap off [69] at Newmarket last July. Runs off [98] now over hurdles.

Dual purpose conditional jockey, Whillans, does well in amateur events on the flat and is fair over hurdles.

Trainer D McCain's hurdles form is on fire in the last 2 weeks: won @ 9/1, 9/2 and 11/4 - unplaced @ 20/1, 33/1, 18/1 and 13/2.

Panzer looks set to go off at about 8/1.

Huntingdon 2.0
This is a 2 mile juvenile novice hurdle in which the three market leaders look sure to figure - many of the other runners are poor ex flat horses and/or have shown little over hurdles.
Ardglass 5/2f:
best flat form; beaten 8L off [60] over 10f - ran 2nd on his hurdles debut (a steady pace) and is entered in the Triumph and Royal & SunAlliance Hurdle. Trainer has yet to have a winner in the last 5 years, so not too impressed with Cheltenham aspirations...
Ameeq 3/1:
best flat form; won a 10f class 5 maiden on AW and beaten 2L off [79] in a maiden - ran 4th beaten 41L on hurdles debut on bottomless ground. Trainer has course hurdle SR of (7-50) 14% - average SP of winners circa 11/2.
Inchloch 5/1:
best flat form; about 3L short in 10f all aged handicaps off [79] - ran 4th beaten 36L on debut. Trainer has course hurdle SR of (5-21) 24% average SP of winners circa 5/1.
Inchloch shades it for me now that the trainer is at one of her favourite courses (SR in hurdles only 9% on debut course) also Flat handicap ratings are truer in handicaps than maidens. Deserves a second chance given that most hurdlers improve for a second run...
