Re: Thu 30th June
Bit better yesterday, with a win and a couple of places. Two big priced 4th's ( both a tad unlucky ) stopped it being a great day. Interesting stuff today and going with the following :-
3:30 Haydock - RYAN STYLE - Decent effort LTO and for me is just as effective or even a tad better over 6f. Very tight at the top of the handicap, but this one looks well enough weighted to make an impact. 3:40 Yarmouth - WATCH CHAIN - Ashley Morgan's claim, puts this one right in the mix. Not at his best of late, but does go well at the course. Back to 7f today and a little over priced IMO at 16's. 4:10 Yarmouth - POCKET'S PICK - Does not look to have a lot of competition up front and will be dangerous if allowed a lead. Second in this last Year and is weighted to go close. Does lack a recent run however, but this at least adds to the price. 6:00 Leopardstown - MOONLIT GARDEN - Definite questions to answer with this one, but does come out well at the weights. The once raced ALANZA, is an obvious danger, but hard to assess her on that win and too short for me at 6/4. |

Re: Thu 30th June
Got a bit to play with after a good afternoon. No real strong fancies among them, but free tonight, so fancy a bit of an interest.
6:50 Epsom - CAPTAIN CARDINGTON and POETIC LORD - PL is one of the obvious choices, but CC also makes some appeal on breeding and is a tad over - priced. 7:05 Newbury - I backed BALLYEA on his debut, but am happy to oppose this time at the price. I have gone each way on a couple, plus added a third for a combo forecast - LOVAGE ( EW ) - Intersting on debut MISS ASTRAGAL - Looked to need her debut, second string today, but still a chance. ROCK ON CANDY ( EW ) - More of a middle distance pedigree, but still too big at 40's. 7:30 Leopardstown - GREAT REALIEF and FLASH MCGAHON - Been with both on a number of occasions, with the latter proving very frustrating. EW bet on both, plus a reverse forecast. 8:00 Leopardstown - Each way bet on a couple of these, plus a combo forecast / tricast - CHEERS BUDDY INDEPENDANT GIRL SHOWBOATING 9:05 Leopardstown - These races do seem to go to fancied horses, but still happy to play 3 at big prices, in an attempt to land a big forecast - HIDE THE EVIDENCE THE SHIZZ ( EW ) CLARACH |

Re: Thu 30th June
8:35 Leopardstown - MUTISKA - Stable usually around the 10 % mark in terms of strike rate, but have not got going recently. Same can be said for the horse, who has yet to recapture his maiden form. Obviously a big risk ,but worth a small bet at 40's

Re: Thu 30th June
Definitely a profitable afternoon, with a winner at 12's and 2 places at 8's and 9's. The evening bets, whilst following a more scattergun approach, were also pretty decent with a winner at 16's and 2 places at 11's and 33's. Sadly the forecast and tricasts never threatened, but I don't mind losing wuth these as they were small stakes bets for potential massive returns. No real hard luck stories, but based on their run today, I do think FLASH MCGAHON will soon be winning.
