Re: Mon 20th June
Could not find anything in the afternoon meetings and not much better tonight. The 7:40 has a couple that I have backed before, so I have reversed them -
7:40 Windsor - KOKOJO ( Always thought this one had ability and she does hold the odd bit of decent placed form ) PEARL BLUE ( First outing in a handicap and has the scope to improve ) |

Re: Mon 20th June
PEARL BLUE won easily and KOKOJO was stone last. Pretty much sums things up lately, but did have a bit on the winner at least. My mood was not helped by checking the results and seeing that HI NOTE had won at 16's. I have put this one up and backed it on every run so far and have always sworn it had ability, even when results suggested otherwise. I was not convinced that the drop in trip would suit and hence I left it completely alone.

Re: Mon 20th June
8:40 Windsor - PUTTINGONTHESTYLE - Another I have been with a bit, but has not done a lot wrong last twice and is definitely up to winning races. Desert Style's, don't tend to go on soft as a rule, but enough of this one's siblings have. Short, but a big form chance.

Re: Mon 20th June
Well done with Pearl Blue mate but I'm opposing you in the 840 with Numeral.
The more I look at Uptown Guy in the 9 Oclock race, the more I see it as the winner. Available at 10/3 and I'm going to double my bet on it. |

Re: Mon 20th June
Something very, very weird is happening to the betting in the 840 race at Chepstow.
Bruj Hatt is still 4/5 with some bookies but is now drifting out to 6/4 on betfair with a major gamble on Aerial Acclaim taking it shorter than the horse that's been the fav all day. No sign of the fav playing up or anything so I'm not sure what is happening. Stage Attraction is my fancy |

Re: Mon 20th June
Stage Attraction the winner
Should be 4 or 5 to 1 |

Re: Mon 20th June
Had a quick look at the 8:30 and found strong reasons to back the top 4 in the betting. Goodness knows what was happening with the market, so credit to you for standing your ground

Re: Mon 20th June
Not sure about the FAV in the 9:00 and do like the look of yours ODM. Not sure that that TINAHEELY should be out at 10's, so have backed that and reversed it with UPTOWN GUY. The outsider will need to improve, but has enough soft ground winners in the pedigree to be of interest.

Re: Mon 20th June
Good stuff again ODM. Obviously from my point of view, the other way round would have been better, but still a very nice forecast from a 4 horse race.

Re: Mon 20th June
Uptown Guy wins and your reverse forecast comes good
![]() My other horse fell on the flat which is always a bit galling. |

Re: Mon 20th June
There's about a £1million jackpot for Newbury tomorow. Good reason for anyone to risk a couple of quid.
Something interesting I note about today, there have been no favourites winning in the last 15 races. Statistically, favs win about 1 in 3 so that's a bit of an anomaly, especially with some of them being around the evens mark when turned over. |

Re: Mon 20th June
Again, kind of summing up the way things have been going lately, there was a lot of confusion as to the forecast dividend ( currently showing up on ceefax as £ 3.79 for example ) My bookie tried to pay me £ 4.16 to a £1 stake, which with and 11/4 and an 8/1, is a tad farcical. I rang up at 21:12 and apparently nobody had yet noticed this. To make matters worse, I was then informed that I would have to wait until the morning for this to be settled. As always, it was someone else's fault, but how a major bookie cannot see an obvious mistake like this is beyond me.
