2:30 Brighton - NIGHT ANGEL - Improved LTO and could improve again. Decent alternative to the FAV.

2:55 Newmarket - FRECKENHAM - Been with this one last twice and she has impressed both times. Chance, in an open race,

7:05 Haydock - MISTER MANANNAN - Twice a winner at this level, but does have to put some disappointing Dubai efforts behind him. 85 day break, no problem and still think there is more to come from him.

8:40 Cork - KING OF HAWKS - Stable in decent nick and has had a couple of bumoer winners ( from a low number of runners ) Been off for a while, but did win a point LTO. Still scope for improvement and about right at 10's.

2.20 Newm - could be some good value here as the trainers of the front two in the betting (ELUSIVE FLAME and GAMILATI) never rush their 2yo's and early season winners FTO are rare. The same comment can be applied to H Cecil's ELBE, so if the winner is a newcomer then it will probably be either, DAMASK, MY PROPELLER or Samitar. I've opted for the latter simply due to the jockey booking - J Spencer has ridden 11 2yo's for Channon since 2006 and won on 5 of them (42122810111), so 4 wins from the last 5 (the loser was pitched in to a Group 2 event on debut), so that swings it for me.
Also backing a couple of the raced ones win & place, none have shown strong form but with doubts about several of the debutants one might go close at a price. Good Clodora didn't fare too badly at Kempton when 5th and can improve (although Meehan's 2yo winners are nearly always near the front of the betting) and Hannon's 2nd string Roedean showed definite promise at Windsor after fluffing the start.

I don't think any of the newcomers are particularly fancied, so fingers crossed.

A frustrating result as I didn't fancy the fav or 2nd fav but didn't bag the winner (Noseda newcomer).

Got the place bet up on the 3rd (ran well, beaten 1 length) but the other 2 were poor.

Either the ground is slower on the rail or simply the better horses were drawn wide (2-1-5).

2.55 Newm - a tricky race to weigh up with the fav INSTANCE having won both starts but no form on turf. I'm interested in the race a fortnight ago in which BLANCHE DUBAWI (3rd), FLASHBANG (6th) and CATFISH (7th) all ran in. All 3 should go well today but I'm taking a chance on Flashbang at 29.0 / 6.6 which looks massive really, considering she was sent off 4/1 fav for the aforementioned race and was coming to challenge when veering badly to her left, costing her any chance. Drawn high with the rail to her left today which should help, surely she shouldn't be so big and looks huge value.

Flashbang hung left again despite the rail to help, didn't make any difference and those on stands side had NO chance, ground definitely quicker in centre (first 3 home drawn 1-2-4).

4.05 Newm - GREENSWARD was my original pick but is drawn 16 so have changed my mind. Will probably dot up now @lol I've changed it to Watch Amigo who is drawn in 8 and will have needed his seasonal debut last time at Kempton, when badly drawn and over a trip too far. Should go much better today.
