Fri 20th May
Bit better yesterday with a win and 3 places. Tricky looking day and mixed a couple of outsiders in with a couple of shorties -
4:20 Yarmouth - EXCELLENT AIM - Can't be backed on recent form, but is having his first run for a new stable today. His initial runs at 2 were all decent and I feel he is much better than shown. Chancy, but this is reflected in the price. 6:20 Catterick - CALL THE LAW - Been with this one a couple of times and always thought he was capable of smart form Not seen much of the jockey, but I recall seeing her riding this horse and being impressed. She seems to get on well with the horse and I don't thinkher booking is a negative. 8:15 Downpatrick - MISTER PHILSON - Relative youngster, compared to most of the field and comes here off the bag of a decent pointing success. Derek O'Connor booked and should go close. 8:45 Downpatrick - CLIFF CLIMBER - My favourite bumper sire and my favourite Irish bumper trainer. Point form was decent and was having his first run for a year, when 2nd LTO. Shortish price, but deserves to be at the top of the market. |

Re: Fri 20th May
A few others interest me and they are as follows :-
2:10 Bath - Toffee Tart, looks strong, but the price is bordering on ridiculous and I have to oppose. Going EW on PURPLE ANGEL ( Will have learnt a lot from debut and should be capable of better ) and adding the Channon trianed pair BETTY FONTAINE and VIEIRA DA SILVA for a combination Forecast. 6:30 Musselburgh - LADY EXCEL - Has just the 1 win to her name and has disappointed more often than not. I still think the ability is there and she needs to take advantage of her falling mark soon. |

Yarm 4.50 Officer Lily
Noted this horse down on 01.03.2011 when she met trouble and got outpaced. Thought she would benefit from a step up but she has been awful. She is ready to be ditched off my list to follow but she is 7lb lower than that run and tries turf for a while rather than p/track off a low weight. Having a pop at an attractive price. beamer |

Re: Fri 20th May
Nice winner - finished up 7/2
![]() While I'm striking I'm on Annelko in the 440 Bath at 13/8 in what the market thinks is a two horse race. |

Re: Fri 20th May
Nice winner Onedunme.
Officer Lily was dire but the early ride stunk. Jockey seemed to be under instructions to have the horse stone last, as he was panicking looking for the fav that failed to start, then got the horse way out wide. Horse is of limited ability but was never had a chance even off the strong early pace. beamer |

catt 6.20 Red River Boy @ 9.4
RP comment about never won fresh is misleading and looks a bet to me, along with Samoan's pick as a saver. beamer |

Re: Fri 20th May
My picks look more likely to finish last than anywhere near the front but going for one last try.
Muss 7.30 Cat 'O Nine Tails @ 15.0 Fav is miles clear on ratings but I never like backing middle -long distance horses off the back of a short rest period, especially as this appears a panic measure rather than a prescott type plot up. Cat 'O Nine Tails is 2/2 here and the trip lto followed by the going the previous run may have been a cause of the poor runs. Back "home" worth atry win & place. beamer |
