Friday 13th May
Newmarket 5.10 Fantasy Explorer
Short and brief but even taking into miserable trainer form and a jock booking that does not jump at me, this will be a beefy bet for me. 8yo looking on downgrade, but he comes here 9lb lower than last turf run and has form over todays course and conditions of : 1,1. Hannagan was booked to ride it at Donny earlier this year but was pulled due to rain sofened ground, a booking which is always worth looking at. Two early tissues show him at 10/ & 14/1 which really is a very big price IMO. Cheers beamer |

Re: Friday 13th May
Bit better yesterday with a pair of 14/1 2nd's, though neither was ever winning. Equally tough today, with plenty of big fields and tough looking handicaps. I have followed the sire Acclamation since his first progney ran and have always dne well out of them.. Hopefully he wil have a good time today as all 5 selections are offspring of his.
1:40 Newbury - VERGE - Dam was a 6f winner as a juvenile and also a half sister to 3 other winners at 2. Stable has been a bit quiet this year, but Dance and Dance ran a nice race at York yesterday and might just be on the way back. They do get 2yo winners and they can get one ready. Too many unkowns in the race to be confident, but given the number of 2yo winners in the pedigree, I don't mind taking a chance at 40's. 7:15 Newcastle - ZAPLAMATION - One win and 3 places from 4 runs at the track and ran well LTO. No problem with conditions and no obvious reason why he should not go close. 8:20 Newcastle - BAWAARDI - Decent 2nd LTO, behind Excellent Guest and possibly in the form of his life. A similar effort today, will see him go close and has a strong form chance in a tough race. 8:30 Dundalk - BONNIE ACCLAMATION - His 2 starts this Year have been over 5f and seemed to be crying out for this step up in trip. Looks pretty well treated off 59 and still has the scope to improve further. Each Way Bet 3:35 York - BERBERANA - Has tended to keep decent company and has seldom been disgraced. Does need to improve on her 2 runs this Year, but holds a leading chance on several pieces of her juvenile form. |

Re: Friday 13th May
Great winner Samoan. Could not get on the site yesterday, so no joy for me.

I'm really glad you posted that comment Seen, as I thought I might have been viewing the race through my cash goggles. I'd actually just added a note to the horse saying exactly the same. Travelled well, but when the gap appeared, he held it back then had nowhere to go. Whether the horse had anything in the locker is hard to predict. I did trade my bet back slightly as what initially looked like a plunge faltered in the afternoon. If Hannagan gets the leg up next time out, that would be enough for me to get involved again in similar class race. beamer |
