Thu 12th May
Again another "quick pick".
York 1.30 Falasteen Win @ 10.0 Swiss Franc. Saver @ 32.0 No shock if Falastenn could break out and make all, although I'm not sure whether the draw is any good. Swiss Franc has been off the track and the jockey biooking is no real eye cather as trainer simply books the best available. He last ran in this when his chance was wiped out at the start. Worth a saver at the current price in a race that looks fairly weak for it's grade. beamer |

Re: Thu 12th May
Shocker Yesterday, with just a place to show for my efforts. Looks quite tough again today, but going with the following :-
1:30 York - FITZ FLYER - I agree with Beamer, that this is not a particularly strong race for its grade and easy to shoot holes in all the runners. This one has tended to be campaigned at a decent level and has only once been beaten by 10 or more Lengths on one occasion. Coming down the weights as well and should be finishing with some effect. Looks to be plenty of pace in the race and hopefully this one can get a good tow. 3:35 York - MARGOT DID - Little bit to find with the FAV, on the ratings, but I have always believed that this one is a potentially decent sort. Has not always enjoyed the best of luck, but definitely capable of smart form, on her day. 4:10 York - APOSTLE - Very disappointing debut, but will have learned a lot and will improve. Plenty of decent looking sorts in the race, but still happy to take a chance with Apostle. 6:15 Newmarket - PRIDE AND JOY - Same sire as Apostle and this one is related to plenty of winners. Some middle distance sorts in the pedigree, so no surprise that she is starting over 6f. Stable does OK with their juveniles and one of the more interesting newcomers. Each Way Bet 5:50 Gowran Park - DARK PASSION - Another of Dark Angel's and again quite stoutly bred. No surprise that they are starting over 7f and the trainer does pretty well, with his juveniles. |

Re: Thu 12th May
Going back to the 1:30, I am going to throw mine in with Beamer's 2, for a combo forecast / tricast. All small stakes, of course, but at the prices there is no need to go mad.

5:40 Perth - MACK MILAN - Obvious pick for me, being a bumper and 40's is certainly tempting. Must be better than a disappointing debut and happy to take a chance at the price

Newm 5.45
Frequency 2 pt win @ 8.6 Collect Art 1 pt win 2.76 Short of time, but I think jockey booking could be value with my 1st pick. Collect Art is very solid especially with Barry who can front run. beamer |

Re: Thu 12th May
Newm 8.30 Lacinicos W & P @ 7.0/ 2.32
This was a race I looked at last night and wanted to be with Laconicos. I dithered over it really because of the trainer /jock combo don't really inspire me, but the horse has the best turf form on offer to me, especially at this track. My dangers were the two n/r's, yet my pick ha s only come in a 1.5pts. So overnight, this maiden after 25 runs running in a class 5, looks a really tasty bet to me. beamer |

Re: Thu 12th May
Laconicos 2nd @ 9/2.
Kept the horse out wide, possible instructed, but the horse was genuine but rolled constantly in isolation. Don't think he would have won, but would have got much closer. beamer |
