This pick is based on it drifting in the market, but she has shown ability, but also temperement.
I'm prepared to ignore last run (h/capper also ignored it when allotting her mark), as she's now qualified for h/cap's. Drop in trip really gives me no clues.

Brighton 5.10 Miss Firefly

Initially wanted to be on Athwaab after it winning for me at Nottingham, but she may win but is no great price at the moment and there is no evidence she acts at this track.

Miss Firefly comes from in form stable with a good S/R when with Baker on board and the horse has fair form here.

Windsor 6.10 Little Black Book Win @ 5/1

Always a concenrn when the horses only win has come at Southwell A/W, but he won in good style and could still be fairly treated.

Just getting back into the swing of things and going today with the following 4 :-

5:20 Redcar - BYRON BEAR - Closely matched with a few of these on a recent Newcastle running ( did not get the breaks that day ) and now has Hanagan on board. No obvious reason why he should not be there.

6:10 Windsor - PUTTINGONTHESTYLE - Stamina doubts about this one, but Desert Style does produce some decent middle distance sorts. There is also other areas of the pedigree which suggest he will be fine. Big chance IMO and interesting that with the doubts, that he is quite short at 9/2.

7:50 Roscommon - BEST SERVED COLD - Trainer not prolific in these events, but does have the odd winner. Nicely bred sort ( by King's Theatre and plenty of decent flat sorts in his pedigree ) and has already shown the ability is there with 2 point wins.

8:10 Windsor - SWIFT BLADE - Type to do better, now sent handicapping and seems to have been put in on a fair mark. Steps up in trip again tonight and this can bring about further improvement. Not one to lump on, but the 20's on offer looks too big.

Frognal has never won over further than 6f, although was 2nd over 7f last time. More worrying is the class of this race - he's 0/24 in class 4 or higher. Looks too short at 5.2.
Ezra Church won on slow going at Southwell before a onepaced 5th on gd/sft. Ran better when 2nd on gd/frm last time but the form looks weak. Probably run okay but doesn't appeal at these odds.
Cathedral Spires is the only 3yo in the field and is a bit of an unknown. Hard to say if he'll be fit for this reappearance so a chance if he is off bottom weight but not strong enough for me.
Rio Cobolo is one of 3 entries for Dandy Nicholls and looks his best chance. Won on his debut for this stable before 3 defeats with excuses every time; an excellent 4th in a big field at Doncaster when up against a pace bias; reared up at start and lost all chance when fav; 2nd to IMPERIAL DJAY who has won again since to frank the form. Likes to lead but doesn't have to, strong chance here.
Summer Dancer always needs 2 or 3 runs before hitting form and should be spot on here on 3rd start of the season. Didn't go on the gd/sft going last time and should get the strong pace he needs.
Rasselas is another Nicholls runner but no show in 2 runs on AW this year. Has won here and has to be a 'careful' runner after 105 days off, tends to get outpaced at this trip but watch market.
Reel Buddy Star is easy to rule out (cue a 5 length win ) - needs further and all wins from late June onwards and when short in the betting (0/24 when 6/1 or bigger). One to watch in a few weeks when he's down to a mark in the mid-70's.
Polish World will probably need the run and seems to need a right handed track to produce his best.
Ghost completes the Nicholls trio, again has to be a 'careful' due to the stable but has shown little in 2 starts this term. Can't fancy unless money comes.
En Fuego made debut for this yard last time and showed nothing. Could come on for that but need a leap of faith to back.

I'm place-laying Reel Buddy Star at 4.0 as he has nothing in his favour, and backing Rio Colbolo and Summer Dancer. Also rfc just in case.

Have backed RIO COBOLO @ 9.0 and SUMMER DANCER at 13.0 (incredible price, this)

Layed REEL BUDDY STAR early at 4.0 for a place and now in to 3.3 Will have to stand it now although will try and put a little back on at bigger in-running (horse needs further so quite possible).

Winner was the unknown 3yo, very well backed - obviously they knew he was fit. SUMMER DANCER wasn't beaten far in 5th, RIO COBOLO ran well in 3rd. I got out of most of my place lay on REEL at 5.0 (touched 8.0). Maybe the rail strip was the place to be.

Averaged 11.0, having backed it again at smaller odds when it was apparent the money was down. Although I beat the 9/2 sp, I feel i little dispondent having seen it hit 440.0 IR.
She could probably do with going upto a mile.

The fact tat one of her eye catching runs was behind Beach Babe who runs in the next, makes her look value at 6.8, off 65.

Finished 3rd having been hampered but was 1st off the bridle and would never have won.

Sticking with the low grade formline in the 7.10, with Avalon Bay @ 12.0.

Finished behind BB lto and probably harshly raised 5lb for that run. However, she proved she handled ground and could dominate.

Not sure about the top 2 in the market, so happy to play the above 3.

From the look of the above, I am clearly still on holiday. Top 2 were pretty well backed as well and neither gave their true running. Best Served Cold, was also well backed ( 9's into 11/2 ) and ran OK in 5th. Swift Blade finihsed in the same position and showed enough to suggest he can win off this sort of mark Forgot to mention the Milan in the Towcester bumper and this was a well backed winner ( 6's into 3's )

I was actually listening to will hill radio for Byron Bear's race and the comment was he was out wide and saw too much daylight.

I backed Best Served Cold, but fortuanately traded out before the off for a free bet.

My pick Avalon Bay bombed but it looked a very iffy ride.
