Friday's Horses
Absolute garbage Yesterday, so my apologies for that. Hoping for something more like last Friday. My 4 picks are as follows :-
2:00 Newmarket - KLAMMER - Won his first 2 starts and lost nothing in defeat when 5th in the Coventry Stakes. Further step up in trip will suit and looks a decent alternative to the FAV. 3:20 York - SMARTY SOCKS - Won this race last year, but then developed a worrying tendency to fluff the start. New trainer ( ex Jockey ) David O ' Meara has applied an eye shiled and this seems to have countered the problem. Big field, so will obviously need luck, but all looks in place for a big run. 4:10 Ascot - DESERT ICON - No show, last time over 7f, but had looked like he was on his way back before that. Down to a career low mark, conditons no problem and Neil Callan booked for the first time. Currently available at 16's and this looks a touch generous. 7:35 Chepstow - OLYNARD - Ran well on his last appearance at the track and was only 7/1 LTO in a 28k Race. Conditions look ideal, new jockey up and I hope he just sits off the leaders, as he has a strong finish in him. |

Re: Friday's Horses
guys,
my 3 were piss poor also yesterday so hoping these are a lot better: newm310 FLEETING SPIRIT backed this at the weekend (nicked the 11/2 at corals), so happy to see it shorten up in the betting over the last few days. last years winner looked as good as ever judging on its seasonal debut at ascot where it was racing on the "wrong" size of the track. must have a sound chance of reversing the form with the o'brien favourite. newm455 BAY WILLOW much to like about its curragh victory lto and is surely the one they all have to beat in this concluding handicap. has been very well placed here by its shrewd trainer and a 6lb penalty doesn't look enough to stop the follow up. ascot520 MISTOFFELEES easy winner of a similar event at yarmouth recently and certainly looks to hold as the aces again today. would not be surprised to see this one "make hay" in the next few weeks or so and run up a sequence. not the greatest of prices admittedly but the treble pays a best priced 33/1 this morning and id be very very hopeful that these three would all be in the frame at the very least (an ew treble would net a profit for the places). |

Re: Friday's Horses
Klammer and Smarty Socks, both non threatening 3rd's. Olynard did the job quite nicely, though was a touch lucky that his gap opened as it did.
