5 For Monday
Just a solitary place Yesterday, but the other 3 were barely put in their respective races. Hopefully all 5 today will at least try : -
2:30 Wolverhampton - KEY BREEZE - Dropping in grade and first time tongue tie, should bring about improvement. Hasn't shown enough so far to be really confident, but a sneaky feeling that he is a fair bit better than he has shown.
3:15 Pontefract - MINCH MAN - Tipped this one up on TDP, last time out and was rewarded with a 28/1 winner ( backed in from 50's ). Form maybe not as good as some of the others, but his attitude was spot on, seeing out the 6 well and rallying to regain the lead on the line. I say the form may not be as good , but the horse he beat in to 2nd, did win a 6k Race, before placing in a 15k Listed event, so by no means is it bad form.
6:40 Windsor - REGAL ROCKET - Same sire as Minch Man and Majestic Missile has proved a solid first season sire. Bit better than the bare form suggests on debut and should improve.
7:25 Musselburgh - BEES RIVER - Still a maiden, but has fallen a long way in the weights. Has run well on her seasonal debut at 2 and 3 ( 3rd both times ) and some of her place form does give her a chance. Another plus is the Jockey Nora Looby.( great name ) I have not seen a great deal of her, but what I have seen does impress me. She seems to have an affinity with the horses and looks a real natural.
The last of my 5, I am just not sure about. I have put up DESERT PRIDE, on his last 3 runs and despite being well backed for all 3, has only flattered to deceive. Way more questions than answers with this one, but do still feel he is capable of winning in this company.
