I like the look of a couple later on at nice odds, although not strong fancies, just feel they are overpriced.

4.15 Exeter
A five-runner nov chase, RED BISHOP looks out of his depth, and don't fancy SOUTH O' THE BORDER as he jumped dreadfully on his chase debut 2 years ago and needs further. The other 3 I have more or less having an equal chance, yet the odds are 2.08, 3.05 and 9.8.....the latter odds are for THE JAZZ MUSICIAN who was rated roughly the same as the front pair over hurdles and ran very well for a long way (went short in-running) last time from the front. Might need further but if he leads again then this ultra-galloping track and heavy going should play into his hands.
Can't rule out COPPER BLEU or SHOREACRES as both are scopey, chasing types but from a purely value point of view the odds on offer for THE JAZZ MUSICIAN are too big so worth a small bet.


4.50 Exeter
A tricky novice hurdle to get a handle on, but I like the look of P Nicholls' 2nd string BUMP IN THE NIGHT - showed promise on hurdling debut when 2nd here 15 months ago, been off since due to knee injury. A nice-looking type, there's every chance he might be given an easy ride today but he's certainly got ability and if he's ready he should go well. He ideally needs further but track and going will compensate.
The market near the off might tell if he's fit today, could shorten or drift dramatically. 13.0 at the mo.

The ground looks absolutely desperate at Exeter today, would not want to be on a doubtful stayer or one carrying a big weight.

A bit miffed as I almost had a couple of quid on the bottom 5 weights in the 1.55 but decided against it and one of them goes in at 33/1 (didn't see BF odds but presumably 60.0+)

now if I start backing them none will win will keep an eye on them
