A few for Tuesday

Not the greatest of racing but a few I fancy...

2.00 Southwell
INSIDE STORY is clearly a bit of a dog and is the type of horse which loses every time I back it and wins whenever I leave it, but I quite fancy it to go close in this. He needs to be ridden right (tucked in behind leaders, produced to challenge through horses) so putting my faith in his jockey (usually bad idea as they're thick as fuck), however this small field should enable him to be perfectly placed. His last run in a non-hcap saw him finish 2nd when he should have won (had nothing to race with in the straight), his form on AW in non-hcaps reads 1152422. Was ridden badly (brought wide) 2 runs back and then found 9f too short at Wolves lto. Always the chance he'll throw it away so will be laying off in-running right down to short odds.

Re: A few for Tuesday

2.10 Taunton
The fav TOUBAB could be anything but one which looks sure to run well is MISTER STICKLER at around 7.4. A horse with plenty of scope, he did well in bumpers before given an eye-catching ride (ie jockey made no attempt to win) on his hurdling debut. That educational ride will bring him on a ton and he looks a solid win & place bet in this weak event.

Re: A few for Tuesday

INSIDE STORY a well-beaten 3rd

I'd love to know what they are doing with this horse, continuing to switch him wide whatever his draw, even though they know fine well he needs company - almost certainly getting it ready for a touch. When it wins you can be sure it'll be well backed in the hole.

Re: A few for Tuesday

2.40 Taunton
Most of these novice chasers are poor jumpers so it might be the one which jumps best wins. QUARTZ DE THAIX was a bit sticky last time but I think he needs to go this way around (was jumping off the wrong leg last time at left-handed Warwick) so looks the most reliable. VODKA BROOK is one to lay short as he looks weak in the finish.

I'm backing QUARTZ DE THAIX to win and laying VODKA BROOK at short odds (if possible)....also place laying the field at short odds as we could easily have a last fence faller(s).

Re: A few for Tuesday

In the 2.10 Taunton the market seems to agree that MISTER STICKLER is the main danger to the fav, into 6.8 / 1.67 from 8.4 / 2.1

be very surprised if he can't place at least.

apparantly the fav didn't impress in the paddock so have place layed it at 1.18 just in case, could easily bomb out.

Re: A few for Tuesday

MISTER STICKLER ran a nice race in finishing 2nd, touched 1.33 in-running (layed some off at 1.51) - although a bit disappointed he couldn't win with the fav only 4th

as said in previous post, I place-layed the fav pre-off and did so again in the early stages as he was pulling like a train, before backing it back at much bigger for a nice profit all round win and place markets.

Re: A few for Tuesday

I dithered over Inside Story and decided to leave it, as I'm still not sure what trip it wants on slow ground. Got involved when it went 2.5 I.R though.

My view is they will try a class 6 h/cap.

Good luck today

Re: A few for Tuesday

2.40 Taunton - QUARTZ DE THAIX jumped like he was petrified of the fences, and only finished 2nd

I was a bit unlucky as I was banking on a last-fence faller(s) to win a nice few quid, 2 did indeed lose their jockeys at the last but were way behind the winner

That sounds a bit dumb following your non h/cap comment. What I meant was he's probably not good enough for sellers/ claimers now, but could win a h/cap of an all time low mark of 50 ( estimated).

QUARTZ DE THAIX looked like it jumped better was some pace was injected. Backed it at @ 6.6 and layed it back @ 3.8, but no profit.

Cheers beamer

Re: A few for Tuesday

Vaughan's SIR LIAM ran very well for a 50/1 shot there, so his runners are worth keeping on your side over the next few days
