Unitedkingdom Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham

I am just wondering what other people fancy for the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham in March. I have studied recent results for the main market dangers in the race, here's my view of the main entrants :-

Solwhit - won well last time, but looked beat when made up alot of ground before last
Zaynar - unbeaten in 3 starts, never been asked a serious question off the bridle
Go Native - has beaten Binocular past two starts, first time at a massive price
Binocular - no excuses cant believe its 8/1, should have no chance
Khyber Kim - recently beat Celestial Halo and Punjabi, showed improvement in form
Merdermit - last race beat Punjabi in a 4 horse field, well held throughout
Punjabi - emptied 2nd last race to nothing when against khyber kim, last race no excuses
Celestial Halo - well beat last two races well out, wouldn't rate a danger

My bets of the whole festival has got to be :-
Zaynar £100 Win 5/1
Punjabi £30 Win 14/1

The only reason I have added Punjabi is due to Barry Geraghty's loyalty to the horse which means Zaynar may have to settle for second best jockey (maybe AP McCoy/Felix De Giles, looking at ATRs stats for Henderson next two Jockeys mostly used by Henderson in the past 12 months, 94 and 72 rides respectively).
Another link to sportinglife regarding Geragthys choice of ride.

PS Sorry if i have wrote off your horse you fancy for this race.

Re: Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham

Pretty boring from me, but no bet yet. The only early bet i would consider is possibly Khyber Kim before his next race. Unless there are injuries to a couple of the market leaders, I can't see much change to the betting myself.

General view is the going will be good-g/f, but we don't really know and hate waving goodbye to ante post bets because of the going.

Good luck beamer
