Horses To Follow

I will put up some horses that take my eye, hopefully with the intention of them winning in the near future.

If anyone wants to add any horses/comments, please feel free.

There's always a chance I will miss when they run next time out, but I will try and post before they run.

I very nearly got tempted tp back this today when he went 30's, but I can't remember too many Shaw winners winning off a break, especially 188 days. Also, the jockey info was very misleading, with different sites showing either Topliss or Crowley in thesaddle. ATR mixed both with it showing Crowley on board with a 6lb claim.

Win or lose in the future, this is definitely a A/W horse with only 7 turf runs as opposed to 75 on the rubber stuff. There won't be much improvement from this 9yo, but has a fair 4/41 over 6f on p/t. If filtered out any slow run races his form would read much better. The h/capper has been pretty tough, in failing to drop him for his 5f runs, but I do think he can win off his current mark.

4 of his wins came when within a 2 month period, so it may be he's way past his best. However all his wins have come from interval of 19 days or less.

Although I think Lingfield form is always to be treated with caution, as many races finish in a bunch, I think he ran with promise today, especially been kept to the outside with no cover. It looked a slow pace to me, so I would hope for better in a stronger run race.

Anything over 6f on polytrack is worth noting, as he looks at ease on any track. Won an amateurs event last year and possible they may go for same race.

Resolving todays jockey booking may help, as I certainly would not be worried if it wass Topliss nto, with a claim.

Any comments appreciated

Re: Horses To Follow

Muktasb entered in races on the 12th & 14th.

Both over 6f on p/track and no chance of being balloted out.

As expected, he has been a couple of lbs for the last run, down to 55.

Hopefully get some pace horses in his race and genuine standard ground.

Although entries show in the RP, there are entries shown in SL and ATR, so i would assume they are extra fixtures.

Re: Horses To Follow

Well it's declared to run on Tue, drawn 12 of 12.

There looks pace and the market may possibly centre around Maggie Kate, who has won her last two Cl6 races, but is only 5lb higher.

Dilema is it's a crap draw, but the market may compensate with it's price.

Dunno

Muktasb declared a N/R.

I just hope it recovers when it is better drawn.

On a positive note stable had a 1,2 today.

Down to run in the 2nd race at Wolver tomorrow drawn 1 from 13 runners. Kirby was originally booked to ride, but Callan now gets the leg up.

Stable had another winner today.

Definitely be getting my cash if it runs.

I was wrong, as he's just had another winner. It probably means a huge cut in the price. I was hoping for 12-14/1.

Re: Horses To Follow

It must the power of the daily punt. When I saw the tissue prices of 14 & 10, I was totally pissed when I saw the overnight trading price of 6ish. Gave it a bit of thought and decided 6's would be fair, considering the opposition. There are faster horses in the race and it looks simply a case of punters jumping on the trainerform bandwagon.

Whilst I want it to win, I think it's a price for the layers. Unless Steel City Boy wins, it has to drift before the off.

Re: Horses To Follow

The more I look at this market, the more I think it's being manipulated. Everyone makes a cock up trading on the exchanges but there simply looks too many "daft" lay bets matched.

There will be some double liabilties, but I would think there will be a fair drift on it.

Re: Horses To Follow

Finished 4th. Only plausible excuse was possibly the slow pace of the race. What I didn't pick up on was the winner Bishopbriggs jockey was originally booked for Muktasb. Turned out he jumped ship to ride for his dad.

Re: Horses To Follow

Wotashirtful

It's possible this horse may not represent any value punting it blindly, as the owners occasionally take the easy option and he is reliant on a decent draw being a front runner.

He looks fairly exposed when looking at his general form, but his h/cap stats on polytrack alone read: 1,1,1,2.

His win atGreat Leighs came with jockey comment:
Quote:
He's fast and with the speed he showed I thought he might fall in a heap but he kept on to the end - Jamie Spencer
.

The 2nd was over 6f, so he is unbeaten over 5f on polytrack, going from OR 75 to his current mark of 83.

Although a straight 5f is probably his ideal, Southwell looks to blunt his speed. Having been tried 4 times there without success, it really wasn't surprising he failed again lto at that track. Dropped a 1lb for that run a return to polytrack over 5f would be worth a look.

What impressed me with this horse is that he has shown a great attitude when he looks like being headed, so I feel it's worth keeping with him until he is turned over on the p/t surface.

Missed a couple of recent engagements and no current entries.

Re: Horses To Follow

Jan 20th Ling 4.10 Muktasb

Apprentice race were I have no idea about the jockey, apart from the fact he is 2/11 on the a/w.

No future engagement which would have been a positive for me.

I din't want to be following these over a cliff, but I will give them 3 chances before dumping them.
