Newmarket Sat

1.50
The fav MISSIONAIRE should go well (me and Beamer were on him at big odds when he was 2nd on debut) but not a great price so I've gone for DUBAWI PHANTOM (7.2), BALTIMORE CLIPPER (15.0), SIMENON (27.0) and BLINKA ME (21.0) at bigger odds.
Don't fancy IRISH JUGGER - small with little scope - layed this one this morning win & place at 4.0 / 1.8, currently 6.2 / 2.16 (which is a minor miracle cos it seems 99% of the time when I back/lay early the market goes completely the opposite way)...so have backed a bit back to give me a decent book.
4 winners, 1 loser, the rest break even.

2.20
MUDAARAAH looks a strong bet here - good win when winning at Folkestone and even more impressive as he made his move away from the fast strip on the rail. Form franked by 2nd and 3rd and a big surprise if she doesn't go very close in this.
JEANIE JOHNSTON is the main danger on form and possibly the only one capable of beating the pick, but flopped badly on heavy ground before a much improved showing on fast - wasn't fully fit last time so can improve again but there must be a worry about the ground. Wouldn't lay her but couldn't bet her either.
CURTAINS appeared to run a cracker at 100/1 at Ascot last week but not only was that a slowly run race but she was also on the fast strip on the stands side, so almost certainly flattered. Won't win this and unlikely to be placed - a place lay for me @ 3.6.

Re: Newmarket Sat

Don't bother with the Chester system anymore, mate

2.20 Newmarket
1st 8 Jira 15-2
2nd 7 Jeanie Johnston (IRE) 3-1
3rd 4 Electric Feel 14-1

The fav ran a shocker, got the place lay sunk but gave me a scare - faded into 4th late on, phew - had it for too much really

SRI KUANTAN looks a good back-to-lay in the place market - looks to have a good chance of being allowed an easy lead, something he's proved good at in the past.....3 places on Betfair in tihs field of 7...he should lead for a long way, big chance of hanging on for a place and if he doesn't he is likely to trade pretty short.

3.8 in the place market - will lay off at 2.0, 1.5, 1.2, 1.1 and 1.04 to green up

Also small win bets on MYSTERY STAR (4.8) and DREAM OF FORTUNE (22.0)
