Oooookay this has THE potential to be THE most disastrous horse betting thread youll ever see probably

Ive done horse racing bets last 2 summers and done quite well but its very much due to following tips than my own fancies (although I dabbled from time to time using my own superior knowledge )

Basically throghout this summer im going to be following some tips and trying to make some of my own. Cos I wont be spending ages looking through all the cards the horses ill back in here will only be in races that ive seen horses tipped in other places already.

A lot of the horses I back will probably be ones tipped by ODM etc anyway so therell probably be a fair bit of repitition. I dont see that as a problem though because I think looking at others tips/fancies then going away and looking to see if you think its a good one and if so backing accordingly (or often thinking its not so great and leaving it) is a skill in itself. You may see me also going against horses that have been tipped by others because Ill have looked at the card for that tipped horse and noticed a different one I liked better in the same race.

Anyway, ive got 1 or 2 for today I reckon so LET THE DONKEY GAMES BEGIN

What better way to start the thread than by going against one of Was' tips for the day

Was likes Chief Editor in the 4.25 at York and I can see why. Looking at the card I thought it would be between 3 for the win, Chief Editor, Alternative and Hill of Lujain. I went and looked at the odds and noticed the first 2 as favourites and Hill of Lujain way out at 10/1 at betfair. I was expecting more like 4/1, 5/1 so thats the bet ill be taking today there. I agree with Was' tip of Portrayal in the 2.15 at York in 45 minutes time. It won a nigh on identical race in its last time out, same distance, class, ground, jockey etc. Looks good to repeat. Red Bloom is a slight worry but I reckon itlll come 2nd. I dont think Mango Mischief is a bad outsider at 9/1 though. As a result I wanted 6/4 about Portrayal and I wasnt going to take any less, luckily SportingOdds have obliged as the only place offering that price

Looking at James' tip in the 2.45 at york which is Leningrad, looks a decent shout. Weird race to me it looks, I dont think Septimus deserves to be favourite at 2/1 and I dont think Best Alibi will win at 4/1 either. Winner looks like Leningrad or Palace Episode to me at 5/1 and 7/2 respectively, will have to have a think
