Dog tip - 9.08 Coventry

I fancy FOLLOW THE SPICE (Trap 5) in the 9.08 at Coventry tonight. She's a quick starter with two slow trappers either side of her, and has the times to blow these away.

As with all greyhound bets, there is the risk that..

a) another dog crashes into her

b) her trainer/owner doesn't want her to win so has greased her paws

...so she's no cert - but is forecast at 5/2 so will hopefully be at least 3/1 on Betfair.

The race is live on Sky Digital Channel 854.

All the dog needed was to keep out of trouble, but the dumb cunt decided to turn right when coming out of the boxes and proceeded to cannon into Trap 6.

If that wasn't enough to ruin his chance, Trap 1 had a brainstorm at the first bend and ran wildly to its right, knocking the selection for six.

In the circumstances he did well to run on to finish 3rd - the calculated winning time was 30.45 (30.25 + 20) and his last two times were 30.39 and 30.33, so he just needed a clear.

He'll recoup losses but I'll only back him when he runs in Trap 6, that's twice he's turned right when running from trap 5.
