Re: Grand National: 8th April

Those stats about French horses is by far the biggest load of complete and utter fuckin total bollocks I've ever read, anywhere, ever.

Ever.

And that includes Gettin's tips.

I accept that it's factual based on the number of total French runners and based on their performance but anyone who lets it put them off backing a French horse is either a muppet or a moron in my humble opinion. I got into some bother the last time I made a comment like that but I really do feel that strongly.

Where is the logic behind making a statement that they aren't good enough to win the race, and then going on to say that they've finished 2nd four times out of the last ten. It's bordering on moronic. In fact it's not even bordering, it IS moronic.

They've been good enough to beat about 38 opponents out of 39 but it's not possible for them to beat 39 out of 39.

Sometimes I despair.

Re: Grand National: 8th April

Well, Heroes Collonges was the first one I jotted down but I'd ruled it out till the legendary ODM said he quite liked it so I like it too again.

And Ross Comm.

Oh, and a rather dodgy looking Baron Windrush.

Oh, and bonus ball will be 38.

Re: Grand National: 8th April

Cannot decide on who to pick , so using a "intelligent pinpick"- I've got an Aunt Iris , but she's no royal , had a great time in Rembrandt Square , Amsterdam in January but he's not running ,just googled this and it got to be

Definition of: nil desperandum

nil desperandum: There is no cause for despair; never despair.

Re: Grand National: 8th April

nice to see Ross Comm getting a mention. It even sounds good-

ROSS COMM
Indefatigable stayer who was in the process of running a massive race in the Hennessy when departing just before the turn for home. Has had a spin over hurdles and over fences to sharpen him up recently and may well go close to altering the poor record of grey horses in this race if he puts in a clear round.

Indefatigable
adj.
Incapable or seemingly incapable of being fatigued; tireless.

Re: Grand National: 8th April

bah well who have you thrown your money away on big stuff? Off topic Swoops i had to laugh last week when i was in the bookies and it came over the announcement that England were 1/8 to win the Cricket v India i think. I had sky sports news on all night at work and from the way they were going on England were amazing. I had a notion to play a fruit machine and considered just putting all my cash on england to stop me from losing it. Imagine my delight when i heard England had got beat

Sorry

Im all National'd up Com on Ross Comm. He'll be staying on forever

Slick fancied Ross Comm too btw, Komp. If that helps any. He's had 2 winners from the last 3 so might do ok.

Re: Grand National: 8th April

I'm just going through them now Mickey , weathers atrocious down here so need to find out what the going is, as ' good' was predicted but i cannot see that must be going onto the soft side.

I do like the look of Ross Comm as was mentioned and it also hits Seens criteria which is promising.
I'll post up my bets after i've had a ganders.
