CHANNON has this Australian jockey riding for him at the moment J. H BOWMAN.

He seems to give him outsiders to ride but he has ridden 1 winner from 8 I think, but the winner was a 13/2 shot or something like that.

Yesterday he gave him one ride in the 4.00 at Newm on GRANTLEY ADAMS @ 25/1 and it came in 3rd,
BUT won its race on the stands side in a group of 18 horses.

Today he has one ride again at Salisbury,

4.05 LEANDER f/c 8/1 and thats the one I want to be on.

"Australian jockey Hugh Bowman, 26, rode his first winner in Britain when Emerald Witness dead-heated with the Jimmy Fortune-ridden Guiseppe Verdi at Wolverhampton yesterday.

The three-year-old is trained by Mick Channon, who will be the jockey's boss for the next three months. It was a good performance from Bowman as Emerald Wilderness did not look the easiest of rides. The jockey gained a narrow lead on the far rail turning for home but was caught on the line by the the fast-finishing Guiseppe Verdi.

Bowman, who finished last on his only other British ride at Brighton on Sunday, is among the premier jockeys in Australia with nearly 500 winners in the last five years."
