William Hill Grand National (hurdles) - live on Sky Sports Xtra 9.45pm
This is a cracking race, with only around 2 lengths covering the whole field on best times, but I think I've found some decent value.
The run to the first bend is the key to most greyhound races, and this one is no different. If your dog gets clattered at the first turn you've had it, and if you could successfully predict which dog was going to lead round then you'd soon be rich. Unfortunately that's easier said then done, but it's still the best way to approach dog racing.
Tonights final is interesting because there are 5 railers and one wide, so trouble looms. The key I think is the inside pair - trap1 moves off the rails slightly (rails-mid) and trap2 is a tight railer. Both have almost identical times up to the first bend so it looks as if bumping will occur - and this would scupper their chances.
With trap3 being a slow starter, this means traps 4 and 5 have a great chance to go round in front, with plenty of space on their inner. Trap 3 could get held up behind fellow railers 1 and 2 which leaves trap6 to avoid trouble on the outer to stake his claim.
With traps 4 and 5 likely to get round in front, they have to be the value call at 7/1 adn 8/1 respectively (current BF odds). I'll be backing these 2 in win singles and also having forecasts and tricasts on 4,5 and 6.
