he was a character. I like come from behind types and 2 of my fabourite horses where quirky types. Pride Of Pendle was a big grey who used to run over 8/9f (i think
) He needed the sun on his back and to be held up late for a late run. It would be great when it got up on the line. Always worth a place (not checked record mind)
The other one would be Son Of Sharp Shot. I think that ran over a mile and again it needed to be covered up. The Johnstone pair of Double Trigger and his brother Double something had some epic battles too. I liked them.
Who was that old battler that never knew it was beat that dies 2 or 3 years ago. You'll know the one. A famous battler.
