Re: William Hill Greyhound Derby - 2nd July

I'm not into dog racing but having watched the semi finals last Saturday, the favourite will have to go some to win this. The Hawk has no pace to the first bend and will be need a good deal of luck to avoid bother and leaving his race there.

Ningbo Jack showed absolutely electrifying early in his semi final last Saturday and was 3 lengths clear in no time. Not much left coming home but it didn't matter. He looks certain to open up a gap again and must have a serious chance at good odds. Many a front runner has won this type of race before by taking advantage of crowding behind but very few have successfully steered a clear course through a field.

I'm having a small interest on Ningbo and also laying the favourite.

Thanks Ian. I got to admit to not seeing the race and also knowing nothing about mainstream dogs. A few pals run dogs round the minor tracks in Scotland and i hear some funny tales but thats about it.

It's good to see you mixing with the common man though Ian

I didn't see the race either and don't know what happened at the off but I was surprised Ningbo Jack wasn't in the first 3.
