Re: Magyar's Musings

A N/R and an unplaced y/day. To late in to post last night.

FRIDAY mega amount of races and runners today and i bound to miss something.

NEWBURY

2.20 SKADRAK - Keeping the faith as mentioned in past.

3.55 RAGAMUFFIN MAN - Did us a favour first time out and looks to be a big player today. Also a saver on LA COLUMBINA now allowed to run at a distance which should suit.

NEWBURY 3.20 - Trenchtown EW UNPL Better than shown so far.

NEWMARKET 2.25 - Viva Vittori WIN UNPL Dissappointing run

NEWBURY 4.30 - FALCONARY EW UNPL Given a strange ride by Spencer and finished away from the action. Still of interest.

DONC 8.50 STORYLAND EW WON Given a great ride by McEvoy

TUESDAY 20/5/08

Musselburgh 2.40 -
RED TARN EW @ 8/1

Trainer long been a fan of the horse. Been gelded and expected to show much more this season. Been running on unsuitable ground last season and was taken out of a race a couple of weeks back when ground turned soft. Todays conditions are hopefully what are needed. Stable run into form recently and may have a reasonably handicapped horse today.

Re: Magyar's Musings

RED TARN 2ND Backed into 7/2 slow out stalls finishing fast.

TODAY
-------
2.15 GOODWOOD - LEGISLATION EW @ 11/1 Put up a couple of times now . Well backed last time knocked about in race losing momentum but finished well enough. Been a bit dissappointing up to now after looking a horse with a future last term. Blinkers fitted today, maybe they will help wake him up.

7.05 SANDOWN - SPELL CASTER EW @9/1Form of last run looking decent now.

Re: Magyar's Musings

Legislation certainly woke up by blinkers, led for a long time but not able to stay there! Don't know what to think now as would go down as an improved performance but at same time for me disapointing.
Spell Caster backed down to 5/1 and trainer seemed keen when interviewed before race but added the usual 'will improve for run', also said distance was at lower end of ability. A muddling race and still of interest.

Was a n/r that day. Out today 5.05 NEWCASTLE in a lower grade of race. Different ground but should be ok on it.

EW BET @ 6/1

Re: Magyar's Musings

KARGAN was a N/R

7.50 Haydock - FANTASY EXPLORER gets optimum conditions tonight after showing up well in a nice first run back when seeming to need run on unsuitable soft ground.

9/2 seems reasonable.

Re: Magyar's Musings

Fantasy Explorer 2nd and looks to be returning to some kind of form.

SATURDAY
-----------

Difficult stuff today, lots of fancies, but can't back them all. So trying to find a couple of less obvious ones.

BEVERLEY 1.55 - DARKNSTORMY never run before , but one of trainers more expensive 2yo purchases. Got a cheaply bought 2yo runner placed recently. Today has the right jockey regarding stats with his 2yolds onboard , well drawn and @ 10/1 an EW interest.

NEWMARKET 2.50 - CALMING INFLUENCE EW i respect a few of runners in this, but was given this horse as one to follow this season by a good judge, before it won last year. So i will keep on my side .

Re: Magyar's Musings

Darknstormy another N/R for me ! I'd make a fortune if they bet on them

Calming Influence WON very nice performance and can still improve i'd think.

Book closed and off to enjoy some sun.
