Re: Magyar's Musings

TOPAZES won the last at Wolves, not Topares as i spelt it . Sorry!
Anyway managed to get 5/2 early as SP 7/4 so happy with that. I think still some more to come from Topazes and should be upto winning some more races.

Today

SKADRAK as mentioned last week when a N/R at Newmarket runs 2.15 WOLVES not going to much of a price though.

SANDOWN 2.25 - Three of interest for me Corrybrough , Fol Hollow and Rash Judgement.
Corrybrough looked a classy horse in paddock when winning in good style at Warwick as a 2yo. Seems to have a big reputation to go with what i saw that day. Stable started season in good form and good draw today .
Fol hollow may need ground to firm up a bit more yet and not best draw for a front running type.
Rash Judgement looked progressive last season and form of last run franked by 2nd running a close 2nd in a similar quality race at Newbury.

CORRYBROUGH for WIN
RASH JUDGEMENT E.W

SKADRAK beaten but there's other days for this one.

Sandown 2:25
1st (4) Corrybrough 5-4 Fav
2nd (6) Chartist 13-2
3rd (7) Rash Judgement 13-2

Also: 40-1 Brassini 4th
WIN £2.10
Ex £12.30 CSF £9.48

I never take SP managed to get 13/8 and 12/1 so i'm pleased . Ryan Moore is becoming one damn good jock. imo.

Re: Magyar's Musings

Saturday 26/04.08

Ripon 2.30 - VAN BOSSED I kicked myself up and down the street for not backing this last time! Thought soft ground was against it. Won really well and can go in again today. Looking for 5/2.

Ripon 4.50 - MEG JICARO Ran behind two decent 2yo's first time out, looking green and not killed on debut. Didn't look fit in paddock beforehand but had scope to improve. Will back E.W

Sandown 4.30 - CENTENNIAL / LATIN LAD A terrible race for favs. So i can't back Centennial today at the price even though i think its a horse to follow. LATIN LAD wasn't not fit first time out at Kempton and the hope is the step up in trip will also bring about an improved run. E.W BET.

Re: Magyar's Musings

VAN BOSSED WON 11/4
Took the rise in the weighs in it's stride and one to follow

MEG JICARO 2ND 12/1
Still looked in need of run and can continue progression.

CENTENNIAL WON 11/8 Didn't back it at the price.
Looked a good prospect kept going up the hill front the front.

Latin Lad UNPLACED Not given a great ride, wouldn't have won but did look likely to be involved in finish. Got very little help from saddle and is better than finishing position.

Re: Magyar's Musings

MONDAYS MUSINGS

Yarmouth

2.00 - Mukhber / Yaddree are two of interest today i'm going to side with YADDREE EW @ 5/1 . Looked a griity figher winning at Brighton on last start in 07. First run today but trainer can have them ready, and gets 3yo winners at the track. Unlike trainer of Mukhber J.Gosden 0/18 in last 5yrs which for someone who has had plenty of 2yolds win here is strange. This, and the feeling that Mukher will be better for a longer trip have put me off backing the horse today. Anything around 2/1 and i will be laying it.

3.00 - MAGNITUDE another to show battling qualities, who beat a horse with decent form on debut. Well related,
hopefully can win in this grade. A WIN @ 3/1

4.30 - ABANDON another tough performer who is very lighly raced back from long lay off but won off a break in past. Form of last win looks strongest in this race. A WIN @ 7/2

Lingfield

2.50 - MAGHYA all my eggs in one basket here with 3rd Haggas horse of the day. Went close on debut .R.Moore booked and hopefully start of a treble for stable today! AWIN @ 11/8

Re: Magyar's Musings

Good luck with those. Only 1 I was interested in today is Cyborg in the maiden at Yarmouth, great bumper efforts in defeat and this drop in trip should suit, could well make a listed performer in time.

Re: Magyar's Musings

Thanks gents .

ASCOT 2.1O - I think the winner will come from Skid Solo or Sun Ship. Baycat beat both last time but was fit in paddock that day and now has a penalty to carry. Grand honour is in my notes but today with a penalty and against seemingly better class opponents may struggle. Firth of Forth is another in my notes and was going to be a bet to place but with only two to aim at, and a pedigree suggesting further will be more suitable i'll leave alone. Johnstone has a newcomer but he sent one to run in this last season that wasn't much use. Meehans is interesting for future being an expensive buy but trainer 0/6 in these type of maidens in last 5years.
Back to my fancies, Sun Ship wasn't as fit as Skid Row on first run so would be expected to show more today but there was alot of money for Skid Solo on debut. So i'll be backing both to win at odds of 9/2 and 2/1 .
