Turftrax and tonight

I have just subscribed to turftrax, at £5 a month I think it is a good website. What interests me the most is there timespeed ratings, I am too lazy to do these myself so the website saves me time!

I am testing it tonight, and the first selection I have made is Hellfire Boy in the 1955.

The horse ran in a maiden at Leicester which was a good race, for which he got a rating of 65 over 7 furlongs. He came sixth in that race only 2 seconds over the course best time this year, if he can repeat that form he should win this.

His highest rated timespeed opponent is Elusive Lady with a rating of 43. This was nearly 4 seconds behind the best at that CD this year.

Therefore at 13/2 looks a bet - EW

Re: Turftrax and tonight

M got placed, it was punted off the board, but did not start well and never looked dangerous. The winner made it look easy.

Next up is Towy Girl the 9/4 fave. This one has a timespeed of 60 but that is only after a really poor run over 6 furlongs. In the three previous runs her speed ratings are 74, 72, 34 however the last was when trying to make all over 6 furlongs, did not get home because she went too fast. Back up in trip to 7 furlongs and given a steadier pace she should get back up to a rating of 70+ which should win this one.

She should settle midfield and then quicken away from this field.

Re: Turftrax and tonight

Word from the track is that the surface was moving about when the horses we running on it, causing it to be unsafe.

Wouldn't that go down as kick-back though? Apparently the materials used to bind the surface together had stopped working efficiently, and made it unsafe for both horse and rider..
