Re: A9 in the Small blind

Quite early in a tournament. shiiiit i missed the size of that raise aye well i had a right to be cautious. I should have folded shouldt i? My first bet was poor too wasnt it? It was just inviting a reraise. I was out of position and doing everything wrong. I just checked the next two as i was totally confused. He must have had KK or QQ didnt he? Everything i done in that hand was so wrong. How would you have done it? ;unsure

Re: A9 in the Small blind

If he had an ace i was beat and if he didnt then he should have been made to pay to see the turn and the river? Then i could have just been giving it all away? If he had AK he would have reraised my pathetic 120 bet. Unless of course he was ...bah i dunno. Wish i never posted it now. I just felt so helpless. I suppose as they say 'playing no limit holdem out of position is no fun'

Re: A9 in the Small blind

yeah komp, I wouldn't play that hand, the guy raises 5 x BB - many players do that with low - medium pairs, they want to win the pot right now ( hence the big raise) and if not, they still have chances to improve - if I had a read on him that he has a low-med. pocket pair it's a fold or reraise but never a call

Re: A9 in the Small blind

thanks chaps. Just expanding on this slightly. Say its level 4 off an stt and blinds are 100/200 and most are sitting with 1600. People are starting to go all in with most hands. Would you call someone when your in a late position with A9s or KQ? just typically i mean and with just you and another in the pot?

I'd call if I had his stack covered few times and the guy was raising from " stealing" position like button or cutoff - and I'd call most likely with A9 , KQ - is gambling
