Another hellish decision. Shorthanded 2/4 NL

Hmmm another tricky spot here.

2/4 NL. 5 handed. I have been playing with the villian HU before the table got 5 handed. Hes pretty good, definately not a donk although he seems a bit too tight. I bluffed him off a couple of pots where he showed middle pair before folding. I then doubled him up from 150 to 300 dollars with a draw vs his top pair which I missed. He has about 300 at the start of this hand and I cover. He is in the bb when I am in the sb.

Preflop UTG min raises to 8 to play. Folded to me in the SB i reraise to 28 with AQo. Villian cold calls the 28 from the bb and UTG folds.

Flop Q42r. pot is approx 62.

I bet 62. he raises to 124.................I now..........???????????

If the guy is on the nitty side of tight, then I fold putting the guy on an AA/KK/set. The fact UTG min-raised makes it more likely that the BB has a hand here. I'd skew towards AA/KK more than sets due to the 3bet by you pre-flop.

Re: Another hellish decision. Shorthanded 2/4 NL

I think he maybe has a set, or overpair.

- does his reraise mean he wants you off the hand? If that's the interpretation maybe has has aq, KK AA and doesn't want you drawing to 2 pair.Maybe he wants to buy you off with nothing.

- does he bet into sets? Probably.

- you say he is tight so I am assuming th didnt maniac with rubbish and hit 2p on the flop..

Its definately a big decision, but a reasonably easy fold ( for me - I am a pussy - not wanting to go broke with just a pair- not to mention the gap concept `n' all..) - possible split pot but unlikely imo. Maybe he has 72o lol.

am interested to see how this one went down.
It will be a mega fold or a mega call

Your pot sized bet might look like another bluff from you trying to take the pot down, he recently doubled up on your draw vs his top pair, he might be trying to represent another one. I'd call this one, he probably has a medium pair or AQ, KQ

I don't think he has AA or KK because he would have raised pre flop with these to try to male it two handed.
A set is a possibilty but I would call as I think you are ahead here.

Re: Another hellish decision. Shorthanded 2/4 NL

Hi Guys

Well this sucked. I have shown clear strength preflop and on the flop (and its not a lie either, I have Top top baby!) yet he wants to minraise me still . I dont think this is a bluff from him. Too often here I have the goods and he knows that. His cold call preflop is also weird, it must be either a pp or AK i figured preflop. I basically put him on a set or a small chance of a slowplayed KK/AA (slight chane of a split as well I suppose but I think he would just call me w AQ here) and show folded. He mucked but since he got to see what I folded he went nuts in chat saying it was a good fold and he had KK. TBH I believe him.
