Re: doggie help needed
Dont take it too serious, thats the idea.
A mate of mine used to back the dog that had the fastest trapping time, so it would 9 times of 10 lead at the first bend, and the majority won. Couldnt ever figure it out myself though, too much like hard work. Tracks have different bias`s depending on the weather etc, and its re-done after each meet ,so diff parts are favoured each time. Watch the early results and see if a trend appears. The odds will shorten on the biased dogs, but for a very good reason. If your just after a bit of fun, just pick a trap, any trap, and do that through the card - you`ll prob get a couple of winners |

Nottingham 3-Stick
I don’t know if this really qualifies as a system but I have enjoyed considerable success at my local greyhound track in Nottingham in recent times by sticking to trap 3 all evening. I know this may seem moronic and completely illogical but if you can do a bit of maths and can be bothered to work out your stakes correctly then it seems to pay off. Is there such a thing as a trap bias at certain dog tracks? By sticking with trap 3 at Nottingham I have had many, many winners at prices ranging from odds-on right up to 12/1 and beyond. |

![]() Its often said that the first dog into the 1st bend will win. But thats not always the case mate. You have split times as well.. They want to get the split times on the horse racing but i dont think it will happen. i have stats on the traps for greyhound when i looked at systems on them. You are best of betting on betfair and for god sake dont lay them. |

Re: doggie help needed
Betfair is only any good from about ten minutes before the race onwards. It's pointless trying to get a price on any future dog races unless they are big ones and bookies already have prices up.
The realistic odds only appear very close to the race. I'd advise using the local bookies on course and seeing which one is offering the best odds. All the internet bookies will be much of a muchness anyway and if you miss a winner becasue you're fucking about trying to get a betfair price matched on your phone, it's gonna put a right pisser on your night. Also, don't get talking to any boring fuckers on track. I missed a 50/1winner or something at Worcester races once (I think it may have been Kop's tip if memory serves) because Swoops was boring me shitless with his thesis on tyre rubber or something. Good luck anyway. Seems to me that 1 and 3 reverse forecasts could be the way to go judging by the info above. |

Re: doggie help needed
hi
1 & 3 not good last night. i missed a couple of early races but I had 2 winners and came out at the end about 15-20 quid down. enjoyed myself though. there was a strange incident (well to me anyway). on one of the races the odds for trap 4 took ages to come up (at least on the screens, i wasn't watching the on course bookies at the time). then about 3 mins from the off came on at 8/1 and didn't move. dog romped home by about 5 lengths. could this have been some sort of dodgy practice? or is there an innocent explanation? |

It used to happen a long time ago on the horses, when a newcomer was touted a good un, or a gambling stable like barney curley or michael wigham, they give an opening show, and go "no offers" on the one they couldnt price up, simply because they wouldnt know how to price it? These types can often run like they should have been 1/10, or even 100/1. Basically my point is , the bookies had a reason to be fearful - and that 8/1 you saw wouldnt have taken much to hammer it down, and im talking £20/£30 bets. So msaybe the money went down off course. Or maybe even the bookies were paid a few ££ for going big odds, under the promise that they wouldnt take any bets on that dog. Maybe they even spread a few rumours on course for 1 or 2 others in the same field, to keep the odds on their dog from being touched, So the off course sheisters (ie hills, corals etc) then have to pay the massive SP Dodgy world the dogs , simply because there is no prize money, and its easy to tamper with um! Thats why you wont get big bets on anywhere. You`ll also notice that some dogs are as short as 5/2 sp, and yet go off at 20 on Betfair - what does that tell you? The bookies are giving nothing away, and the people who know ,are deffo laying them. |

Re: doggie help needed
You lot are so cinyical. Dog racing is very rarely fixed. I know it is sometimes cos the prize money is crap, so owners and trainers need to make money betting. Its a small ratio of fixed races to non fixed races tho.
The bookies know their sport. That 8/1 dog probably did look to have a chance if you know how to study greyhound form or regularly take notes on future winners. Maybe its had lots of trouble in running recently, i dont know. The late show was probably to see if anyone wanted to gamble on it by asking for it before the late show. As nobody did the bookie was happy to price it big like it has probably been in races before. Rest assured, tho, connections may well have conpsired to keep the price big. The bookie has obliged for a bung as long as punters aren't interested in the dog in question. Just my opinion. If you gamble for fun then thats fine. Personally i think you should try and kick the bookies arse. For dog racing you will need your trusty notebook if you want to get anywhere. Follow trainers, puppys, bitches out of season, etc. Can be done if your wiling to be patient and do your homework! ![]() |
