The US Tour continues this week with the Nissan Open. My main hope this week is gonna be Charles Howell @40/1. Hes had a great year so far with 2 2nd places and a 23rd from his 4 tournaments. He also has course form finishing 2nd here two years ago. Its astrong line up though with more or less all the top players starting(No Tiger though).

Luke Donald (-4)@ 8/1 is decent enough value also. He hasn't had a great start to the year but this is a shortish course and it may play to his strengths. No real advantage for the big hitters this week.

5/4 for David Duval to make the cut also looks decent. Hes had a horrible few years but there were signs towards the end of last season that hes beginning to find his form again. He missed 13 out of 24 cuts last year. One of the few times he made the cut was here. Hes only missed 1 cut from 4 tournaments this year so I reckon 5/4 is ok.

Outsider: I'm gonna go for my old matey KJ Choi again @80/1. He had a poor week last week but I'm gonna forgive him as hes been in great form apart from that. Justin Rose at 66/1 is also capable of putting together at least 3 good rounds(Tends to fall away in final round) so I'll have a couple of quid on him.

Most of the tipsters are picking Adam Scott who has a great record here(1st and 2nd in the past 2 years) so if you fancy him hes 12/1.

Decent 1st round for Howell. He lies on -2, 6 behind leader Padraig Harrington(great 63 from Padraig yesterday, sets himself up nicely for a weekend of ultimate disappointment!). Harrington is 3 ahead of the chasing pack(Mickleson, Garcia, Singh Els all in close attendance)

Donald had a mare with 5 bogeys in 6 holes to leave him on +4 and almost sure to miss the cut. Rose Duval and Choi all lie on +1 and need good rounds today to ensure they stay around for the weekend.

Looks like its up to Charles Howell to make it a profitable weekend.

Great finish to the Nissan Open with Charles Howell shooting a cracking final round of 65 to draw level with Mickleson who bogeyed the last. Howell wins on the 3rd play off hole. Delighted with the skinny fella. Just a shame I couldn't watch it. Damn Setanta and their pay per view crap!

Duval and Donald missed the cut while Rose finished in 62nd, KJ Choi finished in 22nd after a poor final round.

Been busy last week or so, hence the lack of comments.
