Re: British Open 2010

Subject to further research, Jimenez, Cabrera and Quiros are my outsiders at first glance. Big hitters should rule.

Re: British Open 2010

just to advise that Boylesports and Paddy Power are e.w. first 7 places, in case your lad finishes 7th, which mine normally do, but they'll be 8th this week! Tips to follow, but not for Tiger.

Re: British Open 2010

Have to say I changed my selections when I finally sat down and placed bets this morning as I was too busy the last two days...

I didn't have time to do any in-depth research, so I just looked at the PGA stats and the BBC preview/tips.

I went with:

McIlroy - 13.0
Daly - 26
Rose - 15
Leonard (for weather)
Stricker - 34.0

Tomorrow will be the crunch day for those early tee offs if the weather is as benign as it was this morning. I just hope Rose has a better round and plays himself into contention. Daly was pretty unlucky, he could've been 10+ under with some of those jaw rattler putts he missed. I hope he keeps knocking them in again tomorrow and through the weekend.

Long way to go though!

Re: British Open 2010

The early starters tomorrow look screwed again - relatively strong winds all day but a bit of a downpour in the morning to boot.

And I'm going too...should be fun. Might just pop into the nearest pub instead

Re: British Open 2010

Just took a couple of players I think are a tad overpriced.

Karlsson 60/1
Daly 200/1

Took both e/w.

Also a couple of wild outright punts

Immelman @ 490
Dredge @ 660

Re: British Open 2010

Well the weather is looking decent for the final day's play at St Andrews. You have to say that Oosthuizen really got lucky with his slot on day 2. It really allowed him to construct a solid lead, which on day 3 gave him buffer should conditions go against him. As it happened, he probably got the more favourable conditions again.

Today, I'll be hoping McIlroy can put together a decent run to get into the top-6. That'll get me some return!

I see Stenson as being the value bet for today 23.0 e/w 1-3. Other than that, I'm not interested. I may just look for some turning points that may see a last day Mickelson-esque charge up the board.

Re: British Open 2010

Nice one on Stenson Traeth. McIlroy came in for me too.

Oosthuizen a 200/1 winner
