Re: Zurich Classic of New Orleans
Verplank does occasionally threaten, plenty of top 10s and a few 2nd and 3rds put still just the one win in the Byron in 2007,he has played this event in 2006 and finished -10 tied 31st.The field lacks all the big guns,so most will fancy their chances, good luck with your bets Chief77.

Re: Zurich Classic of New Orleans
JJ Henry is a player worth a second look as,2008 he was poor up to a point then ended the season with a couple of top 10s and 25's,this you hes still on the up,11th in the Buick and 2nd in the Mayakoba, the guys shooting some low rounds but his still hitting some poor rounds too, last year hes scores were T57 74 68 69 76 in this event, but we had already missed four cuts previous,he was in poor form in 2005 previous to hes 5th in this event in 2005.Hes an interesting bet as hes score average is the same now as it was in 2006 when he had a 1st 2nd and 5 top 10s,chancey bet,but your getting 90s in a field without the big boys.

Re: Zurich Classic of New Orleans
Morning All
We're of the opinion that the Zurich is a HUGE opportunity for some long price winners. Tindall struck with Gay at 100/1 last week Cabrera won at 150/1 the previous week, so lets carry that action on this week. Marking Your Card for the Zurich shows that 'virgins' thrive in Louisiana. +70% of the Top3s over the past 4 seasons had no win to their names. If you add in players who had won a single title that takes you upto 86%! Put simply discount the big names and go with the 'virgins'. Naturally MYC this week lists them all (nice to see Mutt utilising the resource) + we have a virgin predictor model to boot. We've highlighted 9 of the last 12 Top 3s so can't be bad. Tips - this week there are some fantastic names and prices! Scott Piercy - 125/1 Jason Day - 80-1 John Mallinger - 80-1 all still General The best of the bunch is a classic. He's a singleton winner on the PGA Tour. Resides in Gainseville Florida and after a poor start to 09, his form is starting to gain momentum. His game is ideal for TPC. Step forward 300-1 General Chris Couch His Top 10 price of 30-1 with Bet 365 is also very attractive for those 'disbelievers'. If local knowledge means anything here (it doesn't look like it) look for Boo Weekley, David Toms and Brian Bateman. However we're going with fellow Penascola Florida resident (Slocum and Weekley are neighbours) Joe Durant a great T10 shout at 20-1 with Bet 365. He's also finsihed in the Top 10 3 times here at his local Louisiana course. As ever the very best of luck to all. Here's with the tour virgins! |

Re: Zurich Classic of New Orleans
Ended up backing Verplank and Moore both @60's.
Have also just had a small bet on Jeff Overton @65's. He's had 4 top 20's in his last four tournaments and he's going along nicely today -3 after 11. Shall also be backing Charlie Hunky Hoffman to win his 3 ball against Toms and Yang @2.62. Toms is favourite to win it I think thats more to do with reputation than current form. |

Re: Zurich Classic of New Orleans
Right I've gone a bit nuts on the golf this week. Have just backed three more lads in running.
At this moment in time I have SIX players backed. Verplank @65 Brian Davis @130 Chopra @65 Senden @55 Overton @60 Moore @50 Not one of them are known as big game players and all have probably been called some pretty horrible names by myself in the past. But this weekend is the weekend of redemption. One of these lads are gonna bring home the bacon to daddy. Probably not Chopra though as almost as soon as I put my money on him the plonker put his ball into water! |
