Arnold Palmer Invitational

I was just reading about Tiger Woods being fancied in this to bounce back to winning ways. He's got a good record at the course winning there most years and got back to back 68's at he weekend. He's striking the ball well although his touch about the green was a bit rusty. tiger seems happy where his golf is at.

Tiger is best priced 13/5 with Skybet. What you all think?

Re: Arnold Palmer Invitational

Woods will contend no doubt about that. Its whether his short game will be good enough to nail those killer putts. He'll be very close.

A taster of our view below:

Predictor Picks
Watney, Toms, Perry

Tips
EW - Perry, Ames, Watney, Mediate, Rollins

T10 - Lehman, Klauk

The very best of luck to all as ever

Re: Arnold Palmer Invitational

Suppose your right on Woods GBS. What price would he be you think if his putting was at the top of his game? i'm thinking that these guys are pros. Him and Phil Ivey the poker player. theyve got the mental toughness to keep on improving when there is nothing to stop them. fine tuned single attitude style minds GBS.

Perry im reading has a good record at the course and was unlucky last week and could be a man to follow despite his age. I wouldnt know GBS as i don't follow the golf. Goggins gets a mention. He's made the frame 6 out of his last 16 starts and they reckon the course will suit his driving game. What about some 3 ball betting for tomorrow?

Re: Arnold Palmer Invitational

Hello all,

GBS, great to see you getting invloved.

My initial selections are;

Vijay Singh e/w @ 33/1 - Bet365 & Paddy Power

Florida resident is made for this course. Realise he has a suspect knee (and to be honest, I don't know the latest on that injury) but I'm prepared to take a chance at these odds.

Charles Howell III e/w @ 55/1 - Bet365

He's a big hitter and a great e/w chance on this course, in my humble opnion.

Good luck all.

11:50 Brett Quigley (11/10) Steve Marino (6/4) Paul Azinger (10/3)
Quigley's back to back 2nds makes him a firm favourite against Azinger who has no form and Marino who did have a 7th place in the seasons first event, but has gone backwards since missing 4 cuts in the process
Unable to get the above bet on as its not listed on my bookies 3-ball betting

Top American w/o Woods
Kevin Na 33's williamhills, unproven and very chancey bet.

Outright market w/o Woods
Kevin Na 50's bet365

Re: Arnold Palmer Invitational

Cheers Squire.

I write this before looking at the early leaderboard.
We find Howell III interesting. When he hit the tour he was expected to be a real contender. But never truly delivered. Just started working with a new coach in Todd Anderson and his game is improving, as could be seen in Puerto Rico & Copperhead. They are working on expanding his range of shots + putting.
He's a Bay Hill local and lives as a neighbour to Tiger Woods in the golf player commune at Windermere. No social housing there.

Na has really improved this season and we rate him in our Predictor this week. His game fits this tough course. Doesn't seem to have as many mental demons as he used to.

Vijay. Would love to be wrong, but he's not right in our opinion at the moment.

Micko and Woods are definitely the cream of the crop mentally. It will be interesting to see how Lefty plays Woods over the next few months. Can he challenge, lets wait and see.

Re: Arnold Palmer Invitational

When I found the live leaderboard a while back it was revolutionary. Keeps you completely up to speed.

Apologies to those who are up to speed on golf betting but for those who aren't here are a couple of great features that really bring a tournament to life and save you the Setanta monthly fee.

The shot tracker facility on PGA Tour web is fantastic. Takes a while to load, but gives you a clear indication of whats happening to your players over 5,000 miles away, in pretty much real time. You can select individual players, groups of players etc
PGATOUR.com - PGA TOUR Shot Tracker Overview

I agree in advance that I'm anally retentive, but also listen to the PGA Tour web radio when tournaments are progressing. The American fascination with advert breaks every 10 minutes can can a little grinding, but the live coverage is excellent

PGA TOUR Live on XM 146

Have a great weekend, enjoying the golf. A decent tournament taking shape.

Re: Arnold Palmer Invitational

I just like to add that with the http://www.pgatour.com/ leaderboard, if you click customize leaderboard you can colour highlight the players your following, saves all the scrolling up and down the leaderboard searching for player/players.

Re: Arnold Palmer Invitational

I don't know about you guys, but this tournament is taking great shape. I have also taken a personal interest in Na, who I think can T10 at least here.

Our picks and tips are in fairly decent shape as we have O'Hair, Allenby and Watney. We've got the latest news after Round 2 so pop along if you have a spare 2 minutes.

Best of Luck for all your selections
