Re: US Masters 2009

Anybody got any tips for the masters then? I'm looking at Rory Mcilroy e/w at 28/1 at the moment as he's playing well. Any value on Tiger at 11/4? Paul Casey is also looking appealing at 33/1 as he's played well here before.

Re: US Masters 2009

this is the official masters site

The Official Site of the Masters Tournament

it has a good leaderboard to follow the score , it has coverage of certain holes ,15th ,16th , it was posted on last years masters thread here and I used it often.

it is very difficult to oppose tiger , in form as he won the arnold palmer invitational last week

I like betting on golf but my knowledge is limited and I enjoy reading comments from experts on here .

here's the pga stat site

PGATOUR.com - PGA TOUR Statistics

Not normally a golfing man but i really enjoyed watching the masters last year and i'll be in to watch some this year.

Not clued up or anything but i have had a little read up on the Sporting Life and i'm on..

Goosen, Retief @ 25/1
Casey, Paul @ 28/1

Both e.w 1/4 odds, 1,2,3,4,5

Have also gone for both of these at the same odds, as well as Mcilroy at 30/1. Paddy power are offering e.w of 1,2,3,4,5,6. Can't wait for the off now!

Re: US Masters 2009

I've had a slice (excuse the pun) of 80/1 about Vijay Singh.

I thought the odds where pretty good so I've backed him each way ( 1/4 odss 1,2,3,4 & 5 places).

He's got a decent record (or at least I think he has)...... or have i missed something

Re: US Masters 2009

Surely does Kegster, although he's looked very very average this season so far, including at places where he has had a good record, which explains the odds a little. Still he's outstanding on his day, just hasnt had one this season.

Re Tiger - I think 9/4 is a fair - verging on decent price. He was poor in his early tournaments, but was brilliant at Bay Hill - Sean O Hair should have beaten him but still, he looked back to his best and he himself says he is swinging better than he was before his injury.

His record at the Masters is ridiculously good - winning an average of about 1 in 3 over the last 12 years, and not finishing outside the top 3 in the last 4 years.

Looking to the others, Augusta is all about knowing the greens so it usually pays to go with players who know the course and play well here(hence why SL go with Goosen and Casey.) Good luck with that pair all who are on - they look like solid plays to me.

Of the others, players like Zach Johnson, Stewart Cink and Tim Clark etc are all worth attention.

Up coming young guns like O Hair and Watney have the makings of a good record here too.

And while they say first timers and inexperienced players dont win here, you never know and a few of the youngsters who have shown plenty potential in recent times and at big prices could surprise here - Goggin @ 330, Oosthuizen @ 330 and John Merrick @ 750 all look a bit big to me.

Anyway, enjoy folks, will post more in between the rounds.

Re: US Masters 2009

And its worth noting that Ollie Wilson went to University right next door to the course, so knows it fairly well for someone who hasnt officially played here often.
